'Inferno' director says movie will go forward after Lindsay Lohan's rehab stint

The L.A. Times talked to Matthew Wilder, the director of Inferno, the Linda Lovelace biopic that Lindsay Lohan is set to star in. Lohan was just ordered by an L.A. court to remain at the Betty Ford rehab center until Jan. 3. Wilder said the two had discussed casting of the film and that he still plans to start filming in Los Angeles after Lohan’s release in January. He hopes to have shooting completed before her next court date on Feb. 25. He said, “The corollary to all of this is that when you have stuff like this going on, it makes you want to dive into work more, rather than wallowing in the bad.”

Randy Quaid and wife arrested in Vancouver

Categories: Movies

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi were arrested in Vancouver on Wednesday for immigration violations charges after recently skipping a court date in California. The actor, 60, and his wife, 47, are set to appear before a Canadian Immigration and Refugee Board hearing this afternoon, a spokesman for the department told CTV News. The headline-grabbing couple originally made news back in September when they were charged with felony burglary on suspicion of illegally squatting in the guest house of a California home they owned in the 1990s. Evi was also charged with resisting arrest. Earlier this week, a judge in Santa Barbara issued $50,000 bench warrants when the Quaids failed to show for their arraignment hearing. Celebrity bounty hunter Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman issued a public challenge to the couple on Thursday night, urging Quaid to turn himself in or he would capture them personally. Quaid is best known for his Oscar-nominated role in 1973′s The Last Detail and for playing the wacky cousin Eddie in National Lampoon’s Vacation movies. He is also the brother of actor Dennis Quaid.

Liam Neeson in talks for 'The Hangover 2'

Categories: Movie Biz

Liam Neeson is in final talks to replace Mel Gibson as a Thai tattooist in The Hangover 2, sources close to the film tell EW. Variety had initially reported the casting, saying that the Irish actor flew to the film’s set on Thursday for a one-day shoot. Director Todd Phillips had hoped the controversial Gibson would play the role, but in a statement released yesterday, the director stated that not everyone in the cast and crew supported that decision. Neeson has some connection with the cast of The Hangover, as he and Bradley Cooper costarred in last summer’s The A-Team.

Lindsay Lohan ordered to rehab until 2011

Categories:

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Lindsay Lohan to check back into rehab until Jan. 3, 2011, the Associated Press reports. Judge Elden S. Fox’s ruling means Lohan will not be headed back to jail for her failed drug test, even though the judge previously threatened to sentence her for 30 days for each failed test.

Back in September, Lohan admitted she had failed her court-ordered drug test after reports surfaced that she had tested positive for drugs. She had been released from rehab after serving a two-week jail sentence for violating her parole. (She was sentenced to 90 days.) Prior to her hearing Friday, Lohan was checked in at the Betty Ford Center.
