Lindsay Lohan ordered to rehab until 2011

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Lindsay Lohan to check back into rehab until Jan. 3, 2011, the Associated Press reports. Judge Elden S. Fox’s ruling means Lohan will not be headed back to jail for her failed drug test, even though the judge previously threatened to sentence her for 30 days for each failed test.

Back in September, Lohan admitted she had failed her court-ordered drug test after reports surfaced that she had tested positive for drugs. She had been released from rehab after serving a two-week jail sentence for violating her parole. (She was sentenced to 90 days.) Prior to her hearing Friday, Lohan was checked in at the Betty Ford Center.

Rehab is certainly more effective than jail.

This is true, but she has to work hard for her own sobriety. It’s not easy. It would be nice to see her come out on the other side of this alive and healthy.

@TAG: Because of the truth of what you wrote in your first sentence, the chances of your third sentence happening are nil.

      • Tag

@Strepsi: I’d like to be more optimistic, but I think you’re right about that.

right… rehab is so much more effective than jail… especially when has only has to do a couple weeks then she’s out on good behavior and then right back into the drugs. Addicts who do hard time 9/10 times do not go back to drugs. 9/10 times addicts who go to rehab go right back to drugs, it takes years for a true addict to get clean with rehab and thats with dozens of stints in and out. I truly don’t understand how a judge can think that 3 months of rehab is going to cure her lol.
The podcast “Jay and Silent Bob get old” talks all about how Jason Mewes battled with his addictions for many years, he’s been in and out of rehab, done jail time, etc. Ultimately he got clean ONLY when he wanted to. I can guarantee Lindsay’s only going to be in rehab for a few weeks, and then she’ll be out then back on drugs then back to rehab etc… She doesn’t want to get clean. Hello people, she knowingly did drugs even with her drug bracelet was on… She don’t care…

I honestly think thats the best idea, since she will then have no excuse to ‘fall off the wagon’ again during the holidays with parties & of course, the mother of all party nights…New Years Eve. Here’s hoping 2011 is a sober year for Lindsay !

“Lindsay Lohan Ordered To Rehab Until 2001″ which, in Special Treatment-ese, means she’ll be out by Halloween.

      OOps, you made a boo-boo!

She doesn’t need rehab, she has relapsed way too many times, jail was the only way to go and of course, stars get special TX. TI was ordered back to jail for possession, it would have been nice to see her in jail too!

Rehab is a better solution IF her friends and family stay away, and IF she is forced to stay in rehab the entire time, no exceptions. Her friends and family seem to be guilty of being contributors to her current state.

Too bad she won’t be out sooner to do more award-winning films, record more quality records & design some more avant-garde clothing lines. well at least she doesn’t look the least bit haggard, strung out & twice her age. Good thing….

  • joeblow

why are we assuming she’ll be in rehab until January 3rd? how many times has she been sentenced and let out early? I won’t believe this story until I wake up on Jan. 3rd and see ‘Lindsay Lohan leaves rehab’

    • Joe

her lawyer is already drawing up the paperwork and lindsay’s rehearsing the things she’s going to say to emulate good behavior so she can get out in couple weeks.

  • smell

her coke dealer is the only one that cares

  • Chappel

Will she be drug tested in rehab on a regular basis? Just in case her mother and friends think it would be fun to smuggle cocaine in for her…

Fool me twice, shame on me…
Fool me three times…oh, you know what? You were great in ‘Mean Girls’, go have your fun!”

      HAHAHAHA! Best comment ever! :)

  • DMR

Have you seen the celebrity rehabs? I’d like to vacation there myself. Sounds really tough on her. Go judge.

    • Joe

Exactly, it’s pretty ridiculous. Send her to a rehab center in the Bronx and maybe just maybe she’d get clean real fast.

  • Nat

It’s sad. She could have had an amazing movie career. She isn’t the greatest actress or anything but she had a great thing going and she managed to screw it up BIG TIME. I would advise her to sit tight in rehab and once she gets out she should go back to her beautiful red hair, stay away from Hollywood and speak up about everything and just be honest. people love a happy ending as much as a train wreck.

    • Tim

Sorry, that trained already wrecked, and it looks like it’s totaled.

    • Lacey Chabert

A “happy ending” would be if she & her family would just go away

  • Amanda Seyfried

Check out the trailer for “Underground Comedy 2010.” It looks like her big comeback. You know, because she’s so clever & talented.

  • Mister Beepo

    WHO?

  • Rick

What about the movie she was supposed to start this year about Linda Lovelace, the drug-addicted porn star? She’s perfect for the role. Of course, I realize she is playing against type :)

  • robinepowell

Rehab is a good idea. They’re used to treating people with drug addictions and have people who help Lindsay get on the right path.
