The producers of the Hilary Swank movie Conviction, the new movie that tells the story of the woman who spends years of her life proving that her imprisoned brother (Sam Rockwell) is innocent of murder, responded to public complaints from the family of the real-life murder victim. In a statement, the producers said, “We have the deepest compassion and sympathy for the family of Katharina Brow and would like to arrange a private screening for Melrose and Charlie Brow. This will no doubt answer many of their questions surrounding the unthinkable and horrific tragedy that befell their mother.”
On Thursday, the Brows and their lawyer, Gloria Allred, held a press conference where they criticized the filmmakers for not reaching out to their family before making the movie.

When is someone going to greenlight the “Gloria Allred: Ambulance Chaser” reality show?
hahahahaha……
her show could be put opposite Judge Judy ( not that i would watch it or anything )
As I understand it, the film really isn’t about their family, though admittedly it all hinges on their mother’s death. I highly doubt the family is made to look bad in it.
What’s the matter “Larry David”? Didn’t get the response from this same comment on the firs story’s message boards, so you thought you would try again here and see if you got a better response?
You are an idiot. You keep asking how people would feel if Hollywood made a film about their family and made them look bad, when in actuality, this movie is about the man that was FALSELY ACCUSED, and his sister’s mission to get his conviction overturned, not the victim and her family. Plus, since you have not seen this movie and are basing all of your comments on the original article linked to above, how the hell can you say that this film makes the victim’s family look bad? If anything, it makes the police and prosecutors that put an innocent man in jail look bad.
You’re posts however, have made you look bad.
“Larry David” – get a life and stop trolling at ew.com. Your posts are always bitter and negative. Move along…
“…and their lawyer, Gloria Allred” was all I needed to read.
Seriously
I saw the movie, and the family needs to take a hike. They show graphic pictures of the woman, they don’t show the actual murder. We don’t know how she was murdered until the trial. We don’t know if she was shot or stabbed.
And Gloria Alred — isn’t it time for her to retire?
As terrible and tragic and their mother’s death was, that’s not what the movie is about. It’s about a daughter’s fight to free her wrongly convicted brother. However this issue did enable Gloria again. That’s what’s really tragic.
Gloria Alred is like Jesse Jackson… good ideas gone bad. They have both forgot what they originally stood up for. The movie is about the ineptitude of the legal system. If your too ignorant to see that maybe grown up films are not your forte.
