My parents grew up when “gay’ was an adjective—do you all plan to claim they’re prejudice or homophobic? Gay means HAPPY, GLAD,etc.;I’m not defending Vince (I don’t like him anyway) but chill; GAY does NOT (technically) mean homosexual! You have no right to make people feel guilty if they say the “G..” word. We’ve become so sensitive & try to be so P.C. in using certain words that society should beware of the “word-meaning/offensive police” who will swoop at us any second.
Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill. Thank you Anderson Cooper for wasting our time with this. Soon we will all be censored – not by the government, but by “society”- to the point where we’ll all be shopping at the GAP and drinking the same crappy Starbucks coffee. I wholeheartedly agree that this recent rash of gay-bashing bullying that we’ve seen is bad, but with forcing Universal Pictures to re-cut a trailer is political correctedness gone too far. If you don’t believe me, watch those clips of THE VIEW where the guardians of the left, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, stormed off the set during their interview will Bill O’Reilly.
Sure, we can have the conversation so long as the you only use language that is not offensive to ME! Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous!
absolutly right.
Talk about overreacting! GLAADis way off base this time. It’s a MOVIE… nothing more! Why do you have to insist it means something more frightening. Look.. homophobes exist in the rea world. Please stop. Gay people, like all other kinds of people need to realize they can’t sugar coat this. IT’s REAL! I appreciate Glaads efforts to fight ignorance and bigotry. But by demanding that all comments being hateful, and instead of taking offense, sit down and see the movie. See how hard life is for the gay teen today. Let the trailer stand. This trailer will open a lot of eyes to the never ending problems gay people have to endure. Oh.. one last comment. I am a 61 year old retired military veteran. Happily enjoying my retirement. Oh yes… I am gay. I’ve known I was gay since 1962. So I think that qualifies me to make a comment. Thank you for reading.
This whole controversy is gay.
