'Transformers 3' producers cleared of penalties for accident

More than one month after an extra was injured after a tow cable snapped on the set of Transformers 3, the Indiana Occupation Safety and Health Administration have decided the blockbuster movie’s producers will not be charged with any wrongdoing, Variety reports.

IOSHA rep Marc Lotter says the Sept. 1 accident was, “due to the failure of a weld connecting a car to a tow cable.” And that “the weld was made by a certified welder and all necessary safety precautions were in place.” No penalties or fines will be issued.
