Michael Jackson's mother files suit against concert promoter AEG Live

Filed under: Music, News and tagged: ,

Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine, has filed a lawsuit against concert promoters AEG Live in connection with the singer’s death last year, according to the Associated Press. The complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court accuses AEG of failing to meet its obligations to adequately safeguard Jackson’s health as he prepared for a planned series of comeback concerts and claims that the company is liable for the actions of Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death. “On this day my family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against AEG,” Jackson’s brother Randy wrote on his Twitter account. “I am proud of my family.” The suit, which was also filed on behalf of Jackson’s three children, is seeking unspecified damages.

How stupid. My boss is not responsible for safeguarding my safety when I am not at work. Why should AEG shoulder any responsibility? This family is going to do all it can to milk every dollar aren’t they. Enough already!

she needs to sue michael, he’s the idiot who insisted that drugs be pumped into his body non-stop. he and he alone is the reason he is now taking a verrrrry long dirt nap.

What a joke! This is frivilous lawsuits at it’s worst.

This family is making sure that the culprit would be held responsible for the crime.

Employers are responsible for their employees welfare, that’s why there’s health care benefits. If the lowly employees have the rights for such, how much more Michael? Michael is the Greatest Entertainer of ALL TIME!

I find most comments here are stupid and dumb!

This suit should be tossed out of court. MJ overdosed. Neither AEG nor Dr. Murray were supposed to babysit a 50 year old.

and what pray tell was the jackson family doing to “safeguard” his health?????

That has to be the MOST STUPID comment I’ve ever read. Murray administered the Propofol to Michael. It was done intravenously and Propofol should only be used for major surgeries under the rigid observation of medical staff. Know the FACT before posting a comment, so you won’t embarrass yourself!!!

All MJ’s parents hear since his death is “kaching, kaching, kaching $$$$$”… So sad. Maybe if they had loved him more when he was alive, he wouldn’t have had to overmedicate himself to death to numb his emotional pain.

Michael’s been taking drugs for years. That’s why he had a doctor at his house! It isn’t anyone’s problem but Michael’s. He messed up his own health and ultimately lost his life. But it figures that his family would sue. They’ve been using that boy to make money ever since they forced him out on stage at five years old. Why should it stop just because he’s dead???

Michael was a brilliant musician, but he never took responsibility for any of his actions and now his family is continuing that attitude. Sure, the promoters were focused on making money, but Michael was a professional and he knew how demanding such a tour could be. Obviously, things went wrong at his house, but I don’t think that they will be able to prove that it was the fault of the promoters.

    Justice for Michael!!!

    • Jackie

Justice has been awarded to poor Michael. He escaped that god-awful family of his and now he’s in his sheperd’s arms.

Michael did not overdose at all. Dr. Conrad Murry was the DOCTOR giving him the drug. AEG was responsible, that’s why they are being sued.
