Lindsay Lohan may leave rehab

People reports Lindsay Lohan may be released early from UCLA rehab. The actress, who checked into the facility after her 90-day jail sentence was cut short, will be present during a hearing in Beverly Hills Wednesday, when a judge will likely address her sentence. “There’s a possibility she could get out from inpatient treatment earlier than 90 days,” Jane Robison, the District Attorney, told People. “But where she might go depends on whatever the doctors recommend.”

Dustin Hoffman will star in 'Little Fockers' after all

Despite initially being written out of the upcoming comedy Little Fockers, Dustin Hoffman will indeed be reprising his role in the Meet the Fockers sequel, EW has confirmed. His scenes come courtesy of a series of pickup shots Universal is adding to the film, including some opposite onscreen wife Barbra Streisand. Hoffman reportedly will be receiving a salary equivalent to what he would have received had he been cast in the first place.

UPDATE: Hoffman will be in four scenes, some indeed with Streisand, a studio source confirms. These were shot during one week of additional photography, after Hoffman had seen the movie and wanted to be a part of it. The source also confirms that the reason for Hoffman’s initial unavailability was not salary-related.

Simon Cowell bans use of Auto-Tune on 'X-Factor'

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has banned the use of performance-enhancing software on the U.K. series after allegations swirled that a contestant’s voice was tweaked using Auto-Tune. Production admitted to using the technology to improve some contestants’ singing, make contestants with a slim chance of advancing sound even worse. Cowell reportedly placed the ban to maintain the integrity of the competition series, which will air a U.S. version on Fox beginning in fall 2011. Reps for the network could not be immediately reached for comment.

Armed man arrested outside Paris Hilton's home

A man was arrested early this morning after attempting to break into Paris Hilton’s L.A. home, People reports. The heiress, 29, who tweeted that the man was carrying two knives, previously dealt with intruders, including an incident in 2008 when a burglar stole an estimated $2 million worth of valuables from her home.

Jessica Alba to star in 'Spy Kids 4'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jessica Alba will star in Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World, a reboot of Robert Rodriguez’s cash cow franchise that is expected to start shooting in Austin, Texas this fall. The story centers around Alba’s character, a retired spy and mother of a young baby and two older stepchildren, who is brought back into the game to chase down a villain known as the Time Keeper. (The original Spy Kids Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara are expected to return in supporting roles.) This would mark the third pairing of Alba and Rodriguez, who’ve previously worked together on Sin City and the upcoming Machete.

George Michael pleads guilty to drug possession

George Michael pleaded guilty this morning in a London court to charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis, according to the AP. The judge in the case suspended Michael’s driver’s license for six months and said the singer could face prison time. The charges relate to an incident on July 4 when Michael crashed his Range Rover into a photo shop in London. The AP reports that tests showed he had taken gamma-hydroxybutyrate, a so-called “date-rape drug” because it leaves people groggy and powerless.

Michael just regained his driving privileges last year. They were suspended in 2007 for two years for driving while unfit due to drugs. He was accused of driving into three parked cars and driving off without first telling the cars’ owners.

Taylor Lautner suing RV dealer

Taylor Lautner is suing a California RV dealership for $300,000, claiming it did not provide customized coach in time for a movie shoot, the AP reports. The Twilight star filed a lawsuit against Irvine, Calif. dealership McMahon’s RV on Monday. Lautner is currently shooting the action movie Abduction and will reprise his role as Jacob in the two final Twilight movies.

Actress Nancy Dolman, wife of Martin Short, passes away

According to CNN, Martin Short’s wife, Nancy Dolman, has passed away. No details were given, but the LAFD reportedly responded to a call at the couple’s home Saturday morning. “Sadly, we can confirm that Martin Short’s wife did pass away,” Short’s rep Camille Kuznetz told CNN Monday. “We do not have any other comment to make.”

Dolman, 58, was married to Short for 30 years; the couple had three children. Dolman had a recurring role on the TV series Soap in 1981, and met Short in the 1972 Toronto production of Godspell, where she was Gilda Radner’s understudy. She retired from showbiz in the ’80s to be a full-time mother.

UPDATE: L.A. County Coroner Chief Craig Harvey confirmed to People that Dolman’s death was from natural causes. “[Dolman] was under the care of a private physician for a natural disease,” he told People. “There will be no coroner involvement.”

Michael Jackson doctor's manslaughter hearing set for January

A Los Angeles judge has set Jan. 4 as the date for a preliminary hearing into manslaughter charges against Michael Jackson’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, according to Reuters. Murray has pleaded not guilty of involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jackson’s death in June 2009. The preliminary hearing will allow a judge to hear details of both the prosecution and defense team’s cases and determine if there is sufficient evidence to move forward with a full-scale trial.

SeaWorld fined $75,000 following trainer's death

SeaWorld has been fined $75,000 for safety violations in the wake of the death of a trainer in February, according to CNN. The Occupation Safety and Health Organization cited SeaWorld for three violations, including one categorized as “willful” for “exposing its employees to hazards when interacting with killer whales.” In February, trainer Dawn Brancheau was pulled underwater and killed by a 12,000-pound killer whale at the Orlando, Fla., SeaWorld, as park visitors watched. SeaWorld called the allegations “unfounded” and said that it would contest OSHA’s citations.
