Disney locking down carriage deal with Time Warner Cable

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney and Time Warner Cable are nearing a deal for the continued carriage of Disney, ABC, and ESPN. (The current deal expires Thursday.) The following statement was printed on the websites for Disney and Time Warner Cable’s carriage news: “The Walt Disney Company and Time Warner Cable have made significant progress in our negotiations for continued distribution of ABC, Disney, and ESPN networks and services. We are now focusing all our attention on a successful conclusion of these efforts prior to the September 2 deadline.”

The two parties reportedly had sparred over the cost of ABC TV stations, and consumer charges.

They better close this deal pronto! If they don’t, TWC will have a ton of royally pissed off customers in Central Texas. We’ve been looking forward to Saturday’s game (airing on ESPN) since January.

Don’t just blame TWC, the cable channels have been getting mighty greedy too.

I would’ve missed ABC and Disney. ESPN is horrible anymore. Its amazing how you can ruin a simple sports broadcast with terrible anchors/color commentators.

ESPN is still better than all that gay crap on other channels like Glee and American Pickers.
