The winners for the 2010 Teen Choice Awards, which air tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox with hosts Katy Perry and the male stars of Glee, were announced yesterday by the network, after the ceremony was taped at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles. In total, 105 award winners were announced, spanning five major categories from movies and television to music and fashion. Vampires dominated the awards, as the Twilight movies (both New Moon and Eclipse) racked up 12 surf-board shaped trophies, while TV drama The Vampire Dairies took home seven. Twilight‘s Robert Pattison, country music sensation Taylor Swift, and pint-sized pop star Justin Bieber each took home four awards. The winners were chosen through more than 85 million votes cast online. [Related: Teen Choice Awards: We Rate the Best and Worst Looks]

Also: Teen Choice 2010 behind-the-scenes ‘buzz’

After looking at this list, I’ve come to the conclusion that kids are dumb.
I agree!
Well, at least Toy Story 3 and Shutter Island were good films.
Rock hard evidence that the school system is failing this nation’s children.
I agree with their pick of the movie Date Night. At least they did a great job with that category. I love Steve. All of his movies are never boring. The rest of this list is just crazy though.
What is even more sad is that these teens will eventually grow up..So much for the future of this country. You think a black President was a break through, wait until these idiots grow up and vote for Justin Bieber as president, or someone remotely similar…
ok listen up jim. we are teens, so we like people like justin bieber and taylor lautner. back in whenever the beatles were popular do u think people would have been saying wat u said that people would vote them for the president someday? I DONT THINK SO! so let kids be kids and dont ruin their show. just ’cause someone pissed in ur cheerios doesnt mean u need 2 go pissing in everyone elses so buzz off
seriously people, they are not voting on the Oscars, and they are just kids. I suppose all of you only liked top quality art and never enjoyed the band or movie star of the moment
I’m a teen, and after seeing this, I’m kind of scared for my generation. But we did get some winners right, like Mike O’Malley and Toy Story 3.
By the way Jim, Justin Beiber couldn’t run for president, because he was born in Canada. There are still stipulations for running, ya know?
100% agreed! lol
taylor swift won an award for “valentine’s day”. shudder…
no better than her winning an award for singing
@ @graeme: LOL
gosh. taylor swift for acting AND singing? she can’t do both!
It’s a popularity contest, what else do you expect?
My favorite Winner:
Choice Movie: Villain
Rachelle Lefevre, The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Take THAT – Summit.. who kicked Rachel out of the ROLE on a power trip.. guess Twilight Fans don’t care about famous daddies when choosing villains.. Opie Who?
graeme saw the movie “Valentine’s Day”…shudder…
Hahaha!! Anyone from twilight winning for best villain. Now that’s funny!
HAHAHAH! I am thirteen years old and I couldn’t agree more.
No, we’re just represented like idiots who pass for being good looking.
*sigh* What happened to ppl with real talent?
Clearly not being appreciated by the kids nowadays. I bet only like 0.01% saw Shutter Island.
Also, I wouldn’t say Justin Beiber is exactly “good looking”.
Justin Bieber is a very pretty girl.
have to say its a young teen’s tv show and these are the types of films/tv/music there in to let them be..plus i wouldnt let my young teens watch shutter island did you really expect it to get many votes when most of the voting public are under age to see it !!!
tbh, i agree. what happened to people like stevie ray vaughan, and henrix in music, and actors like stallone
totaly!!:)
There were not any nominees who were not sponsored by big Hollywood money and productions.
In my opinion, Taylor Swift has the least talent of any actress or singer I have ever seen. You might disagree, but that’s just my opinion. Just look at all the big money that is backing her – without that, she’d be nothing.
I couldnt agree more.
Actually, she’d probably still be writing hit songs. She’s a talented songwriter. From what I can tell she’s also a nice person so I begrudge her nothing.
Yes, behind the scenes the music industry is just FILLED with 19 year-old female songwriters. As opposed to older producers and musicians who have been working in the biz for years…
I haven’t watched the show all sesaon but, I’ve watched the last 3 weeks with my wife and the one obvious thing to me is that the judges(Nigel in particular) has already made up his mind that Melanie is the winner and it doesn’t matter that the other dancers are out dancing her. Tonight her first performance was boring and short and he raved while Sasha killed her performance and he actually felt the performances were comparable. As the night has gone on Melanie was woefully average tonight and her last performance with Tadd was 1 big gimmick that they raved about. I’m going strictly on performance tonigt and I feel that Sasha or Marco hands down outshined Tadd and Melanie. I would definately give Sasha the best performance of the night but, she may get hurt by having to carry Tadd who doesn’t even belong in the finals. When he danced with Melanie the choreographer was smart enough to disquise his lack of dancing ability while Sasha’s choreographer attempted to give him choreography that brought down the performance.
WELL SAID.
I was thinking the same until I got to the two awards for Chuck. At least they got something right.
I am 14 and I agree that Chuck is one of the best shows out there. Paranormal Activity, Shutter Island, Toy Story 3 and Paramore all deserved their wins but Twilight… really, wake up America! That’s just staring- it’s not romantic, it’s just creepy!
Twilight is pretty creepy… Edward is a massive pedobear…
Chuck is Hellas awesome and finally they are gettin credit for it
My thoughts exactly.
I completely agree!!!!!! Freakin idiots!!!!!!
Agreed.
Yes!
I’m happy that The Vampire Diaries won a lot because that’s turned out to be a great show. But why does Twilight have to win everything else?!
One posibility is that a certain Squeakquel wasn’t nominated anywhere.
Remember at the Kid’s choice Awards when New Moon got Chipmunked by the Squeakquel?
because iiiiiiiiiiii think twilight is the best movie ever !!!!!!!!!!! evrything about it is exceptional
I don`t think these “wins” were based on votes. Teen Choice knew who they want to show up for the show and what names they want announced and just fixed them accordingly. I mean, Kellan Lutz is the scene stealer? Lmao, how many lines does he have in NM one, two? or did he win for Nightmare on Elm Street, lol? Anyway, there`s no way his win was vote-based and there`s no way that Lautner and Pattz won Best Actor in their category each as opposed to just one of them sweeping both. It`s fixed, people. As is Leo winning his Award. He`s too great for this show but consiodering his one-two punch with Shutter Island and Inception, they had to squeeze him in because he`s the talk of the town. I wish it was actual vote but it smacks of fixing like everything else.
totally disagree, kids are smarter coz they’re heads have not been polluted by the media yet, they’re more objective and loyal in terms of their choices…it’s kind of like “i like him and i don’t care what anyone else says” which means their choices are the most honest
“they’re more objective and loyal in terms of their choices”
That doesn’t make them smart, That makes them TEENAGERS!
The winners weren’t voted by fans. They were decided by the TCAs as what’s “hot” they just let fans vote so they feel like their voice counts. The names should be changed to the “People Who Can Show Up Awards”
What the…? JUSTIN BIEBER?!?! EMINEM?!?! CALIFORNIA GURLS?!?! DAVID BECKHAM?!?! CHUCK?!?! Not sure who all the nominees were, but Jason DeRulo deserved Male Artist. B.o.B or Jay-Z shoulda got male rapper. California Gurls is the worst song of 2010 only to best Not Afraid. Who the heck is David Beckham?!? I’m a freaking sports junkie and I ain’t heard of him. And Burn Notice deserved all the action awards.People need some freaking taste. -_-’
They are, in fact, dumb.
Taylor swift is a bad singer I have no idea why she wins these awards… The peoples choice awards is wayy better
Hey I’m fifteen and I’ve got to say, I agree with about…none! of these choices! except maybe for Sandra Bullock’s awards. And the awards for chuck. Though lots of teenagers have horrible taste, there is still hop in the world. Some of us actually do have good taste!
jelous
Channing Tatum? Are you kidding me? That was probably the worst performance in an action/adventure film ever.
Who were the other nominees in that category?
Matt Damon for Green Zone, Nicholas Cage for Kick-Ass, Russel Crowe for Robin Hood, and Robert Downey Jr for Sherlock Holmes (and he should have won)
I believe District 9 was up for some of these. That was an Oscar winning film. It won nothing here.
Gooo Teen Choice..
District 9 was a rated R film. Most teens can’t even get into the theater to see it, so why would it be their “choice”. I get your point, but these are children we’re talking about here.
@Joey- You honestly don’t think teens know how to get into an R-rated movie without parents?? My 12-year-old brother knows how to do that.
To Joey: Kick-Ass was also rated R and yet it was nominated.
District 9 was an amazing film. It’s ridiculous that it didn’t win anything.
yah district 9 was, i believe please don’t contradict me on this, on last years ballot
and for everyones reference your parents thought you were an idiot when you were a teen…. its just A CYCLE that we have to live with
agreed!!!!
OMG I CAN’T BELEIVE LEE DEWYZE WON! THAT’S AMAZING!
acors shes hot
Lee Dewyze won because the average American Idol audience is around 20 million viewers per week while his competitors average audience is around 3 million viewers per week. That and he was the one in the group with actual talent.
LOL Taylor Swift won Female Breakout Star for Valentine’s Day?? 1) That movie sucked and 2) She wasn’t even good in that movie.
But omg, I’m so happy Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski won!
Mia Wasikowska was ROBBED of Breakout Star. A least she won for Best Fight.
Why does everyone need to single Taylor Swift out all the time. She’s a huge superstar so it’s not like she doesn’t have fans to vote. David A. winning the American Idol Alum category is far more surprising. Better he then the overrated Kelly and Carrie. LOL
I am not singling Taylor Swift out, but I just watched Valentine’s Day last weekend with my daughter, and she absolutely was horrible. Like her music but wow, she needs to stay away from acting.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT! it was just plain sad watching her act.
I totally agree. Not only was it not that great a movie but her ‘storyline’ was completely extraneous. That in itself would have been okay if she had at least been good in it but she wasn’t. It was quite embarrassing to watch.
As much as I dislike Taylor, Valentines Day movie was just awful with or without Taylor.
If it weren’t for Kanye West, she wouldn’t be getting 50% of the press she does.
agreed
STFU
taylor swift is amazing., Kanya West is a JERK. and has nothing to do with her becoming so famous. She is an amazing artist, and has done this all on her own.
so just be quiet.!
Oh come one. This Kanye West thing is so old. So you’re telling me that you think Taylor is sitting on top of itunes for nearly a week because of what Kanye West did nearly a year ago? You can’t be serious. Most people have already forgotten about the Kanye thing. Taylor has never really mentioned the situation and has moved on. She was successful before Kanye, remember his whole argument was because she WAS successful (beating Beyonce), she was winning an award at that time so she was already winning prior to Kanye and already quite well known with two multi platinum albums under her belt at the time (she was also the top selling digital artist at that time). So let’s just stop looking desperate thinking Kanye is all that powerful . If Kanye was really all that powerful I think his new single would have sailed to the top of itunes in 5 hours. BTW, which proves taylor has many fans of various ages, I don’t know many 5-12 y/o’s who have credit cards to keep a single on top of itunes going into one week. I mention ages of fans because that’s another one that her haters like to tease about, they like to say her fans are all 5-12 y/o’s. All one needs to do is look at itunes to see that’s not true. Those are adults over 18 buying that single.
Not everyone who uses iTunes and buys from it is over 18. Half the people Apple markets to are kids using their parents’ credit cards, Apple gift cards, or free downloads. Additionally, there have been studies, conducted and reported by Nielsen, showing that teenagers 12-17 years old are twice as likely to use iTunes than the average adult. Your age argument is so flawed.
I know not everyone using itunes is over 18 but the majority are over 18. Of course, you have those nitwit children who steal their parents CC’s but most who purchase on itunes are purchasing legitimately, otherwise, the joint would be shut down.
The fact is. There is no Justin Bieber currently in the top 36 on itunes. If there are teens stealing their parents CC’s or who have GC’s to spend on downloads I’m sure Justin Bieber would be somewhere near the top on itunes, after all, he is the current hot teen love. The fact is…..MOST itunes purchases are coming from adults 18 or older. PERIOD.
Just look at the top 10 on itunes.
1. Taylor Swift
2. Eminem
3. Taio Cruz
4. Enrique Iglesias
5. Katy Perry
6. Usher
7. Katy Perry
8. B.o.B
9. Mike Posner
10. Jason Durilo
11. Kenny Chesney
So there is nothing “flawed” by what I said. Those are clearly facts.
fellis the reason justin bieber is not on the top 36 is because he hasnt come out with any new songs since MARCH because he is TOURING. if you have EVER seen or heard about justin bieber fans than youw ould know how fast his songs go up the charts when they come out
There is a very large variety of age groups using Itunes. Many parents buy their teenagers gift cards to use on that site or let their kids use their credit card to buy music. Parents generally let their kids buy music one way or another. There are a LOT of teenagers using Itunes as well as people over 18.
kelly and carrie aren’t overrated. david is underrated.
the teen choice awards is really the only time that any of these celebs will win an award. none of the choices are substantial and it really makes me sad that these are the people that todays youth look up to.
Don’t forget the MTV type awards.
want do you ecspct tecknolege like miker soft offces and ckelaters thats wants its and aloat more
The Teen Choice Awards, proving annually why most teens are complete idiots.
We are not idiots!!! Everyone was a teen once
Yeah, but with some brains. Just look at the MTV awards, for example and compare the movies from the 80s and 90s that we voted for compared to what they are voting for today. And really? David Beckham for male athlete? Does he even still play?
Kaylee, You’re not the best one to make the case for that due to your post below(Not saying Bieber is horrible, just that the people are going to think of you as an idiot for that post, not that you are, and I’m sure you’re not.) Anyway, I’m 15, and I already have to deal with everyone thinking I’m going to shoplift something, but I also have to be associated with the fact that, these things are what all the teens like. I’ve never read or seen Twilight, I’m just not interested in it, I’m not going to judge, and Justin Beiber isn’t horrible. On TvTropes he fits under, So Okay it’s Average. I don’t listen to much music anyway, I don’t even have any on my iPod. But, just because I am a teenager, I am looked upon to like these things, (Guys, probably not so much about Twilight, except for the movie Vampires Suck, needless to say, I’m considering some defriending.) I wish there was an award show for people like me, people who don’t just take what they’re given. I started watching Breaking Bad, and I love it, is there any way I can give an award to it? Probably not. What I’m saying is, don’t put us all in one big clump, look closer, you’ll find that we are individuals.
Yeah, I was a teen not too long ago Kaylee. But see I grew up in the nineties with stuff like – N’SYNC, BackStreet Boys, Britney, Christina, Beanie Babies, Harry Potter, Boy Meets World, Country was Shania Twain and Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Athletes were like Michael Jordan and Randy Moss, Wayne Gretzky, animated movies were 2D Disney. Hard to believe life has changed that much. OH and no 3-D. The only 3-D I saw was a an amusement park in Disney World.
I think its safe to say that everyone has had, have, or will have a portion of their teenage life where they will make bad/stupid choices and embarrasing guilty pleasures but,….BUT! There is no excuse whatsoever with this whole TWILIGHT ordeal. NONE!
Apparently. XD
I’m offended to be lumped in with a large number of my idiot peers. I have a brain, thanks, and it tells me that Twilight sucks and these awards mean squat.
Amen to that.
because iiiiiiiiiiii think twilight is the best movie ever !!!!!!!!!!! evrything about it is exceptional. by the way thanks god heaven i have a very good taste about movies. come on guys!!!!!!!!11111
Yay! Shane deserved that award!
Definitely. (:
David Beckham…lol…that is hilarious. The Sims 3? What is wrong with kids nowadays.
dude are u serious? the sims 3 is awesomee! and there is nothing wrong with me btw.
I’M SOOOOOO PROUD OF YOU JUSTIN!!!!! I love you Justin Bieber
You deserve and I voted EVERY day!!!!
F…..UCK YOUUUUU
you have to admit. that IS pretty weird..you voting for him every day.. not even i am so obsessed with an artist or series to do that. but then again, jb’s lucky to have a fan with so much determination i guess
Maybe she should give him a call when he grows some pubes
That is…..If he doesn’t get his period first.
Might as well have been the kids choice awards after seeing the winners…oy!
My thoughts exactly. I love Katy Perry, but Im sorry I cant bring myself to watch such garbage anymore. It was interesting back when I watch Kids Choice, MTV awards and Teen Choice. But all the same $h!t wins now. LAMEO.
wow, I’m 16 and most of these winners don’t even come close to winning (in my opinion). However I am so glad that chuck got some recognition and Chris Colfer from Glee. The voters were teens and that shows from the predictable and stupid choices that they made
Yay for Shane Dawson he deserved it.
Agreed
Megan Fox and Lady Gaga won.. im happy! lol
