According to People, Frank Sinatra’s 32-year-old grandson was taken to the Downey Regional Medical Center in Southern California on Monday after overdosing on pills. A woman in Frank Sinatra Jr.’s hospital room, who identified herself as “Aunt Dorothy,” would only say that the man “is doing okay. He had a big setback. Let’s just say it’s very similar to what his father went through with Ava Gardner. He’s been having a very tough time. He’s doing better now. We think he’ll pull through.” Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner had a famously stormy and passionate six-year marriage in the 60s.
Sinatra Jr’s hospitalization was first reported by TMZ on Monday night.

I care about this. I loooooove Frank Sinatra (and I’m in my twenties) and of course I think it’s a shame when anyone feels suicidal, but it particularly gets to me when that person is associated with something I love as much as I love Sinatra. Best wishes to this man. And as nancy said, commenting/joking that no one cares about a man in pain trying to kill himself is awfully hateful and it’s completely inappropriate – I hope you understand that someday when you mature a bit, kiddo.

Sadly in this world when men are depressed they don’t usually seek proper treatment for depression. Statistically throughout history men are taught to “toughen up”. Suicide rates in males vs. females is much higher. To “Kat” to state that you care about this because you love “Frank Sinatra” music isn’t that mature either Kiddo, but this may be something that you learn as you mature.
