Thank you for helping me make a clean break Idol. I will never watch again if JLo is a judge.

I think some of the people on this post are crazy. Jennifer Lopez has been successful in music and movies. She is not just known for her outfits, booty, and whatever other nonsense some people are saying. I think she will be a funny and be positive or critical with the performances.

I think some of the people on this post are crazy too.

Add me to the list of people not hating this idea. What JLo may or may not lack in “technical” singing ability, you have to admit that she has tons of business savvy and “moxie”. She has definitely made lemonade out of lemons and created one heck of a career. Not to mention, she is gorgeous, and I doubt she will have any reservations about giving an honest critique.

OK, the list now has two names and counting.

      List = 1. J-Lo 2. RBlues

disaster !! this show is going down…

  • Sassy

J.Lo’s okay – she’s like a younger, more sober version of Paula. But this show’s been going downhill for years now. Replacing Paula with a similar “type” only serves to maintain their steady decline, I don’t see it doing anything to reverse it. Maybe they’re hoping she’ll bring in a wider latino audience or something?

    • @Sassy

She’ll definitely bring in a wider butt.

Even though Jennifer wouldn’t be my choice I think she would do fine.

    • swimmer

      I mean first choice. :)

Hasn’t her 15 minutes of fame expired yet? I mean, she’s never made a good movie, no one over the age of 15 likes her music, she seems to be a complete and utter egomaniac … how is it that people still want to see this shrew?

    • kathy

      agree completely.

Simon is irreplaceable. Like many others, I’ve watched every epi since day 1 and have no intention of watching again next year. But I will say that Lopez brings music credibility, Ellen is bowing out gracefully, Nigel is useless & I look forward to seeing who signs on/bows out next. Lopez won’t bring me back but she is a heck of a lot better than the rumors of Stern, Michaels or Simpson.

    • Centar

LOL, I’m pretty certain that those guys are still in play. Jennifer replaces Ellen, but they still need a scapegoat for Simon.

    • Naylock

      Lopez brings music credibility? Really?

  • Barry

A no talent tramp “judging” non talent wanabees. PERFECT!!

  • Lena

I think it’s like- YES okay Randy, Kara and Simon were not singers- BUTTT how can you bring in someone (J Lo) who really can not sing that well to actually be a good judge and deliver credible critique on someone else’s singing ability?? And they wonder why the ratings have dropped!

  • Georgia Peach

Jennifer Lopez would make a terrific judge for American Idol. She knows the business.

  • Andrea

I’m fine with her being a judge.

  • Barf

I just puked in my mouth.

  • Amanda

Why wouldn’t she want the gig? She only has to work on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, will make millions of dollars and she gets to spend more time with her children. This is the working mom’s dream job and she is perfectly qualified to be a judge plus she may bring in more Latin viewers.

  • Centar

Jennifer isn’t a problem. She’s a valid singer/performer, unlike Ellen the talk show host.

The REAL problem for Idol is the exit of Simon Cowell. Without him, they are in HUGE trouble.

    • Anon

Well, let’s all hope that they dismiss the idea of Steven Tyler as a replacement for Simon. Now that they’ve lowered the contestant age to 15, Tyler would do nothing for the show’s demographic. He looks like a cadaver, sounds like a rusty gear and is too out of touch with today’s music.
