Sounds like a great idea on the part of idol producers. They do need to breath new life into this show. The format is so old and worn out, but it is always fun to see what the contestants can do with only a week to prepare! Jlo seems like a good choice. Hopefully they replace the whole panel. I like Randy Jackson and all, but DOG, Dog pound, and any other Randy language that we have heard 1000′s of times should be banned from TV forever!!!!
Chris Issak would be a great judge. He is an awesome talent, has a huge fan base, is likable, smart, a showman, and hilariously funny! Can’t believe they havent had a Chris Issak week!
I loved Abdul as a performer, but she was just plain annoying as a judge. I don’t judge people before I’ve seen what they can do, so I’m really hoping that Lopez has the common sense and guts to tell contestants when their performance wasn’t perfect. I’m not asking anyone to be like Simon, but Abdul was pretty much incapable of giving any negative criticism. How are the contestants supposed to improve if they don’t know what needs improved? Isn’t that why the judges are there?
Totally disagree!!! She gave PLENTY of negative criticism! Paula and Simon WERE American Idol. And since Simon is clearly a producing genius he know that and left. Nathan, don’t confuse intelligence with saying the OPPOSITE of a popular opinion. We are in agreement with J lo so I don’t mean to be mean, but I REALLY miss Paula. I didn’t watch ONE episode last season!
After Paula left I was done but with Simon gone I won’t watch anymore. Jennifer Lopez’s career is washed up otherwise she wouldn’t take this gig. Her records don’t sell, movies flop so this is the only job I guess she can get now. Anyway, I won’t be watching cuz I’m not a fan of her or Bret or any of the former pop/rock stars they put on the panel.
J lo is JUST starting to reach the point where she needs a career boost and American Idol is obviously a hot mess! I say, “Go fo it!!!!!!”
I honestly am not watching this show anymore. JLo? She is horrible. Her latest albums have seriously FLOPPED! If this was Latin American Idol then I would not be so upset, but her success in the US is minimal. Her voice- awful. So dissapointed. X FACTOR! Can’t wait to see Paula again! She had a much better music career than JLo! and she is funnier
Some of you need to stop being so overly dramatic about Jennifer Lopez being a judge. I think with Simon leaving that it is a good thing to shake AI up and give it a fresh start. Jennifer was good as a mentor and I say lets give her a chance. Don’t think she is going to be that bad and who knows she may be what the show needs. After last year we all know AI needs a new life.

What is wrong with all you haters, do you realize that the show will always survive and the judges just keep getting better and better. I am happy for Jennifer she is an outstanding person and a very talented one at that. She is real. I appreciate that from anyone, especially from a person that has worked hard for what she has.
it doesn’t matter who’s doing idol, everyone here would have somehting to say about it, if you all can do better, why is it you are not one of the judges?, im just saying!
I love jennifer as the new judge, I think she is very sweet and down to earth. I used to not watch american idol becuz I thought it was boring, now that jennifer is a judge I will not miss an episode. Good show!
You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation but I to find this matter to be actually one thing that I believe I might never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very wide for me. I am taking a look ahead in your subsequent put up, I will try to get the grasp of it!
