I predict a sharp dive in the ratings this upcoming season. Simon was the only thing left that had people coming back and you could clearly see this year he was ready to go. X-Factor will take over the slot AI was in, and AI will fade away. Adios AI.
Timberlake is a legend in his own mind. Forget him! And Nigel who??????? Never heard of him. Bret Michels would be great on the show. Or how about Donnie Osmond?
Harry Connick, Jr. would be perfect!!!! Very talented, lots of experience, great background.
put the show out of its misery and let it die already… its OVER
The only thing that used to be worthwhile about SYTYCD was that it was not purposefully “mean” and criticism was constructive. That has changed this year – largely thanks to Mia Michaels. So while an AI panel total overhaul is long overdue – the freshest change would be a focus on “Accent the positive; eliminate the negative; and latch on to the affirmative;don’t mess with Mr. In-Between”
I think SYTYCD is having a pretty great season. I love having the all-stars, and with fewer dancers to start with, there’s absolutely no dead wood.
I just watched the latest episode and I was impressed when Nigel spoke about the ridiculously high number of injuries as something “we” need to work on. I like that he sees problems in the show as the production teams’ responsibility–rather than the dancers’. That’s an attitude they could use over at AI.
I don’t get a lot of Mia’s criticisms, but the dancers seem to–even if she makes them cry. I wish the AI judges could be that constructive.
Finally, I really like that Nigel seems to develop relationships with dancers at the audition level–and he’ll tell people when they’re not ready. There have been so many young singers who were put through on AI when they hadn’t developed as singers or artists.
The only negative about Nigel (that I can see from my living room) is that when he was in charge, AI seemed more focused on middle-of-the-road performances and less supportive of those who were (to quote Adam Lambert) “just a little bit different.” I hope AI continues to move in a more inclusive musical direction.
Although, maybe they do need to give the judges more discretion in order to do that. Oh dear. What a dilemma.
NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! I CAN NOT STAND NYGEL LITHGOE. I DO NOT TRUST NYGEL LITHGOE. PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT MAKE HIM A JUDGE. I WOULD PREFER HE HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH AMERICAN IDOL!!!!
Get rid of all of the judges and start from scratch – love you Ellen, but not on this show!
If both Ellen and Justin Timberlake were on the panel, the entire show would be her calling him adorable and him beatboxing and her dancing to it.
Face it…..it’s over……
(or should be)
I think “Eva LaRue” should be a new judge on American Idol. She’s sweet, beautiful, talented, a triple threat and has knowledge in all stages of talent. She’s a professional singer, dancer and acting. Shows like, Candid Camera, All My Children, CSI Miami, (the list gose on) She’s been a model for Willamina Model Agency, since she was a teenager…. Google her! She helped pave the road for the Latin/Latina’s on television today! SHE’S JUST WHAT IDOL NEEDS FOR A JUDGE! If ONLY a Idol producer OR somebody a FOX…. would read this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the only way i know that I can give my shout-OUT! Remember this name… EVA LaRUE!
