Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, who stumbled on stage Wednesday night during the band’s concert in Tampa, revealed on Twitter that his spill was actually the result of blacking out. “And for those that saw me fall last night during Bullet [With Butterfly Wings] that wasn’t a stage move or clumsiness, that was me blacking out and wiping out.” A second tweet added, “I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I’ve got quite a good bruise + am moving slow.” Corgan recovered to perform 11 more songs that night, and the slip went unnoticed in most concert reviews.

Sounds like the shows he used to play in Normal back in the 90s. The man sucks live. With enough production the Pumpkins records were ok but the man cannot perform.
I agree with Kristen that he does not have a “concert voice”… but he does have energy and presence live.
I totally disagree! He played in Richmond last week and he was incredible! I’ve heard his voice isn’t good live and he screams too much – maybe only when he plays large venues??? I thought he was amazing last week!!
The emperor does so have clothes!!! His live pitch is fine!! He’s not tone deaf!!
He can’t sing, but he is an incredible songwriter and guitarist, so props to him even if he is a bit of a jerk at times.
Things just really haven’t worked out for Billy since 1996. We’ll always have ‘Mellon Collie’ and ‘Siamese Dream.’ And ‘Gish.’ The rest, meh.
