All is right in the world when these people make more money than I do.

Seriously MTV you should not spend that much money on these trashy people. I am sure that you could find people more than willing to be on the show for a lot less money. And strike? From what? They don’t do anything besides disgrace themselves, their families, and all of us in NJ who have to be associated with these repulsive people. If you really want this type of people maybe you should just go to that show Jersylicious; they have 2 girls who think they are Snooki.

ugh seriously MTV? You caved? For THEM? They’re the flavor of the month. I guarantee you by the end of season 3 nobody cares about these morons anymore and MTV looks worse for dropping all that money on a bunch of hacks. Stuff like this really angers me.

I agree this show, or at least this cast, will fizzle out by the end of season 3. However, as of right now, this show is one of the most anticipated guilty pleasures to watch on television during the summer. I think that these kids should definatly get a raise over what they got paid when they shot season one, before anyone knew if it would even be a hit or not. Personally I think after this cast gets boring (or too old for people to care about them), MTV should bring in a new bunch of hot messes for us to watch get drunk and make fools of themselves.

I can’t even bring myself to watch MTV any longer. I used to be hooked on that channel. 120 Minutes, Headbanger’s Ball, Yo! MTV Raps, Beavis & Butthead, and music videos!!!! That’s how I want to remember MTV! Hell, I’d even welcome the return of TRL. But not this stuff. Not the show about pregnant people or the people from jersey……wait, what else do they show nowadays???

They are playing out their lives for the cameras, at least they should get compensated for it. Especially since MTV will capture every aspect of their lives (including drunken stupidity) and re-air it over and over. The show gets huge ratings on the network. Again, MTV re-runs the hell out of the show. These kids won’t see any money if MTV ever decides to syndicate the show if it lasts long enough. So why not get money now up front? They make a lot for club appearances in one night then they do per episode of the show. MTV needs to take care of them. Also, if you don’t like the show, that is one thing, but don’t get mad at them for making money. It may not be your thing, but a show that got over 5 million viewers for it’s season finale on a cable channel needs to pay it’s “Stars” accordingly. Also, weren’t the kids on “The Hills” making WAY more?

      I agree

People have an issue with it because a lot of us who are college educated are having to do a lot to make ends meet, while these morons get thousands and thousands of dollars to act stupid.

it’s a shame when pretty boy and girl gold diggers such as this bunch is bringing shame to their generation.

    • marc

I wouldnt say “gold digger” would be a relevant term for the Jersey Shore cast. Seeing as they are doing what any other person would do given their situation ( no pun intended) Trying to make a living. GRANTED they are not a very good representation of Italians or New Jersey’s population.. However, they don’t claim to be and it makes for DAMN good television. I mean look back into tv history. Was Sienfeld a representation of Jewish New Yorkers.. and if so for shame! Will & Grace represented the gay population in NYC as glittery theatre queens and pent up business men with daddy and mommy issues.. However that’s not wat these shows are supposed to do here lol they are not Representing anything they are just entertaining.. thats all they are supposed to do is entertain and I don’t know about you but Snooki doing cart wheel’s in a mini dress and getting punched in the mouth for being a drunken animal lol now that to me is THROUGHRILY entertaining lol and good for them for milking the only thing they probably will ever have going for them.. wouldn’t you? If someone said hey her eis 10 grand an episode go out get trashed lay ont he beach and make out with people and u will be famous… I’d be on that like white on rice and I don’t know many who wouldn’t in their early 20′s lol.. just sayin…

Beautifully put, marc! The cast is full of party people and I’m ecstatic that they’re parlaying their fame into cold, hard cash. Why be exploited…with reruns, google hits, and vids for YEARS without being well-compensated? The young women on Girls Gone Wild suffer the same or worse humiliation in exchange for a fricking t-shirt!!

  • mari

I worked on the Seaside Hts Boardwalk as a teen-its’ just the ‘Northeast’s’ version of Spring Break! They are likely being advised to hold out for more $$…they’ll be living with the consequences of their actions long after they become parents and regret the crazy things they did when their children witness their ‘naughty’ behavior!

Love the SHOW! Love watching them!
That was me back in the day and now! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
