After Switzerland opted not to extradite Roman Polanski to the U.S. in connection with a 33-year-old unlawful sex with a minor conviction, the director was set free. According to the Associated Press, the Swiss government claimed the U.S. should have provided more info regarding Polanski’s sentencing procedure to the country following Polanski’s arrest in September. “Mr. Polanski can now move freely,” Justice Minister Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf said. “He’s a free man.” Though the U.S. will be unable to appeal the Swiss’ decision, the director is still considered a fugitive from the U.S.
