Country music star Carrie Underwood, 27, married Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, 30, on Saturday, according to People. “We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us,” the couple said in a statement.

This is great news and I wish nothing but happiness for Carrie and her new husband. From the beginning of my work as an Internet CD reviewer and blogger in 2005, I have always expressed my feelings that Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson were the two really great finds of Idol. I know that I have been critical of the show for many years and additionally I am not so sure that either star still wants to be characterized as an “Idol”. Bottom line, it took a long time to find these two terrific recording artists.
As an “Internet CD reviewer and blogger” do you veer off-topic there too? Your post is rather self-aggrandizing for no reason. Your observation that Kelly & Carrie were the “two really great finds of Idol” is no revelation. Any numbskull knows these 2 are the most successful and arguably most talented from the show. Also, it did NOT take a long time to find them. Both were in their early 20′s when on Idol; Kelly was on Season 1 so how exactly does that reflect a “long time to find”? I am happy for Carrie.

In all my posts regarding American Idol I have never suggested anything other than the need for a concert show with professional talent. Please watch and enjoy Idol, it will evidently be around for a long time. I want to watch an adult concert show with recording artists such as Johnny Mathis, Tom Jones, America, Loggins & Messina. These artists, true, are much older but still excellent. My show does not need judges.
