love it or hate it freedom of speech is one of the benchmarks that america is built on…homosexuals in america have no idea what intolerance is…I spent a year in Africa and the media and “government” treat homosexuality as a disease at the very least and as a curse or criminal act at the most. many homosexuals are killed or forced to leave society and families if they come out. yeah i know that there is intolerance and hate but in regions like africa and the middle east a homosexual’s life is at stake. i just think that americans need a little more perspective on things. homosexuals in america want same sex marriage and equal rights for health care…i think if we really cared about gay rights that we would want to extend it past our own borders…would we?
I hope they have gay children.

Hey, if a person wants to marry someone they’ve known only 24 hours… knock yourself out. Not my business, and it’s your right. YOU have rights, at least.
But then don’t stand up and write a book about and go on national talk shows calling for other people–people who have loved and supported their partners for 10 15, 20 years with no legal protections–to NOT enjoy the same rights you do.
Same old sad human story: the majority, flush with social privilege, will fight tooth and nail to maintain that unearned privilege, at the expense of minorities’ civil and human rights. Today it’s gay marriage, but it applies to skin color, religion, gender, clan, tribe, caste, nation…
Our species is a fine one, eh?
No matter how it is justified, homosexuality is an abomination of God and shame on ministers like Joel Osteen who will not say what thus saith the Lord when asked by people like Larry King. He was asked this question SEVERAL occasions and he (Joel) danced and prances around the issue. I feel bad that Carrie was demoralized for speaking God’s Word, but she will be rewarded for be persecuted for Christ’s sake…
Shouldn’t you be spending more time praying for their salvation instead of posting your damning words on a message board? Aren’t you supposed to love thy neighbor? I’m amazed by you supposed “religious” people who misunderstand the guiding messages of the Bible and instead choose to proffer that God’s grace is selective. Leave the judging of someone’s eternal salvation or damnation to God – and try to live your own life righteously.
