Sean Penn attached to produce, possibly star in surfing biopic

Filed under: Movies, News and tagged: ,

Variety is reporting that Sean Penn is attached to produce and possibly star in a biopic about surfing legend Dorian “Doc” Paskowitz, who famously abandoned a medical practice and traveled along American beaches with his wife, eight sons, and one daughter in a 24-foot RV. (The Paskowitz clan was also the subject of the 2008 documentary Surfwise.) Alan and Gabe Polsky (Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans) are also producing, and producer Paul Feldsher (The Four Feathers) is attached to write the script.

In the same story, Variety also mentioned that Penn is interested in joining director Curtis Hanson’s soon-to-shoot surfing movie Mavericks in a supporting role.

All my friends are fat and have kids. If I cook the adults for food an blubber fuel can i later adopt the kids? It would be like “catching up” on lost time.
