They have to be better than this year’s Adam Shankman produced disaster/boar fest.

What, you didn’t love the poorly lit shots of audience members and the at-a-distance shots rendering people un-recognizable?

Couldn’t agree with you more, dc – this year was the WORST show I’ve seen since I started watching as a kid in the early 70’s. Hope these guys learn from the televised bowel movement of 2010.

Worst show, Toronto Tom? Really? The Hugh Jackman show was terrible, but I guess I could understand why people might like it, Hugh being a somewhat capable song-and-dance man (that opening number stunk!). The Chris Rock hosted event and the Letterman debacle were the worst for me – Rock didn’t know how to host without being a d**chebag (yeah, a white guy acting that way would be considered one) and Letterman looked uncomfortable. I thought Martin & Baldwin were great and I hope they come back as I see nothing but improvement.

I don’t think people disliked Martin & Baldwin per se, it was other production and direction issues that made this year’s ceremony jarring to watch. The show is more thsn just the host. A lot of things go in to making a great telecast.

if i started a facebook group campaigning for Stephen Colbert to host the 2011 Oscars, would people be interested? i think Colbert would be the *perfect* choice

still, nothing will be right until THEY BRING BACK BILLY CRYSTAL. seriously, i don’t care how obscene the amount of money has to be to lure him back: just do it.
