Almost two weeks following the pop star’s controversy-clad trip to Citi Field, where she gave the finger to Mets fans and was subsequently moved to Jerry Seinfeld’s luxury box, the comedian has reacted. “This woman’s a jerk. I hate her,” Seinfeld said Monday, at the tail-end of a radio sports show interview. “I can’t believe they put her in my box, which I paid for. You give people the finger and you get upgraded? Is that the world we’re living in right now?” In the interview, Seinfeld sounds both exasperated and bemused, and it’s possible that his comments were made more in jest than in actual irritation. Seinfeld then segued into a characteristic comedic inquiry into the origin of “the finger.” “What’s the finger anyway?” he said. “Speaking of interesting and new, how old is the finger? How did it even get to be ‘the finger?’” Reps for Seinfeld and Lady Gaga did not respond to EW’s calls for comment.

He used that finger bit in one of the opening stand-up riffs for his show. He goes on to say that he would be more offended if someone gave him “the toe.” Dude, you’re a funny guy and you should get some new material, you did that almost 20 years ago. Also… SIC SEMPER TYRRANIS!!!

Yep, Gaga is God and therefore can do absolutely no wrong. Who cares if she is talented and creative? Does that mean she is no longer required to act like a civil human being? Kanye West is talented and creative too, yet no one defended his behavior at the VMAs. You Gaga stans sicken me. Anything you wouldn’t hesitate to criticize someone else doing, you applaud Lady Gaga for. Try taking off your blinders and see things objectively for a change. If my favorite artist acted like this, I wouldn’t excuse them for it, and neither should you.

I think he was being more facetious than serious. I think he was perturbed that after her antics that she ended up in his box and it somehow reflected poorly on him and he was just making light of it…with a hint of truth there. It probably annoyed him, but I doubt that he actually “hates” her.
Yeah, well, I think he’s a bigger jerk for stealing a guys wife when they were on their honeymoon. I guess in his world, giving somebody the finger is worse than breaking up a marriage.
From what I’ve read, she was just looking for a good exit strategy anyway. They’ve been marriage for about a decade now, so something is working.
I didn’t say their marriage wasn’t working. I just pointed out that he broke up a marriage. When a multi-millionaire (heck, he might even be a billionaire) starts sniffing around, a lot of low class people would start looking for an exit. I loved Seinfeld, but have hated Jerry Seinfeld ever since he broke up a marriage.

As for Gaga…she’s nothing more than a Madonna wanna-be. All hype, very little talent. I’d be pissed too if she wound up in my private seats after her disgraceful performance.
“Very little talent”…I guess actually singing live and sounding like her album, playing the piano and that little keytar thing on SNL doesn’t count as talent. She doesn’t have to hide behind dancing like other artists.
I agree um. She has talent. And she’s young and doing stupid things. So what? Most people do. I can understand why some people don’t think that she is talented though because, at this stage of her career, most of her songs have great hooks for the chorus, but rely too heavily on it to the point where the songs become repetitious and boring.
I’m interested to see how she develops though. She has all kinds of potential, and I think she could be amazing once she matures a bit more.

Hey Ko…I really don’t think anyone has honestly said that Gaga has invented playing the piano. People mention it to prove that she has something more than singing available to her. Think of it from a Band perspective. Would you like someone to be in it who could only sing…or would you like someone who could both sing and do something else? Who would be more beneficial to the Band? Who has more “talent” huh? It’s a pretty simple to understand why people keep bringing it up.

I agree with Ko… most Gaga fans act as though she is the only musician out there who can sing, write and play an instrument. Um, so can Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake, but neither of them get half the praise that Gaga does. When she creates some original, groundbreaking music and stops aping Madonna, then you guys can brag about her talent. Until then, spare us the same tired crap about her “talents”. If she was that good, then she wouldn’t have to resort to silly antics such as this just to get people talking about her.
Sorry, the one with very little talent is Jerry Seinfeld. He tells a joke and then stands there with his mouth open, wide eyed, waiting for the audience to laugh. Waiting, because he is not funny and all he can get are pity laughs. You all know what I am talking about.

Yeah, why don’t we attack Jerry Seinfeld for making half joke comments. I would say he is somewhat talented for being behind one of the best shows of all time that has stood the test of time. I don’t think we’ll be saying that about this woman who is more tied into the freakshow nature of the current definition of “celebrity”. Yikes, this site gets worse by the day. Can we focus more on Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Glee, and the rest of our awful “culture”?
