Michael Jackson's death is mother's fault, says Joe Jackson

Tags: ,

Less than two weeks before the June 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, Joe Jackson alleges that his son’s death was a result of his wife Katherine’s inaction, according to a blockbuster video interview with England’s News of the World newspaper. According to the interview, the 80-year-old paterfamilias of the musical family says he begged his wife to get their son Michael into rehab for his alleged addiction to prescription pills. He says the final straw came when the couple saw their son lying on the mortuary table. “I said, ‘If you had listened to me, Michael would be living now!’ I kept thinking about the times I had stood in front of her saying something was wrong,” Jackson says in the News of the World interview. “Katherine didn’t say a word. I had to get away from her. If she’d done what I asked, Michael would be here today. I am incensed with her. She could have made a difference.” Jackson died last June after going into cardiac arrest. His mother was named in the King of Pop’s will as the legal guardian to his three children. His father was shut out from the settlement.

Here’s a thought, if you were so concerned, Joe, why didn’t you do something? I think there were a lot of enablers in MJ’s life, and a lot of people who didn’t know how to tell him where to draw a line. But to try to single out blame on one person doesn’t work.

    • Anthony

My thoughts exactly. He’s such a gross person.

      • Casey

He’s a real piece of work I tell ya. He honestly believes what he says too, that it was his wife’s fault and that he takes no blame. He’s simply delusional,.

      • KS

        Stay classy, Joe.

    • Sally in Chicago

This is all about the money…Joe has none, so he’s giving interviews. Katherine was denied the extra $30,000 needed to funnel to him like in the past, so he’s running his mouth again.

    • darclyte

He had no input or control in Michael’s life; however, the mother did. That is why he had to voice his opinions and/or concerns with her (if this is true.) Regardless, he should have kept his thoughts, true or not, to himself.

      • gone to soon

someone had it out for jackson. they wanted to bring down the biggest superstar. who is behind this evil which hunt. they used mj love of kids to go after him. and they did a great job. Iam very sure that it was a plan to destroy jackson. so who killed him, there will be distraction to get away from the death investigation, they will find made up dirt to distract us again.

        illuminati

      • Meli

No control in Michael’s life? A man who Michael and his brothers said would beat them if they got a step or a note wrong? A man that Michael refused to allow his own children around? I’d say he had a very bad influence on Michael’s life, which is why Michael didn’t talk to him the final years of his life.

      • T.C.

Michael’s mother had no control over his life. He was fifty for crying out loud! Michael was an autonomous adult with millions of dollars. He was going to do what he wanted, no matter how self-destructive and there wasn’t anything anyone could do about it. The only thing Michael’s mom had that the father didn’t was a relationship with him, but that does not mean she had any power whatsoever to change him.

    • Bob

In the same interview Joe says he did not know then that he knew of the alleged addiction of Michael.

      Pathetic.

The autopsy revealed that MJ had NO substance in the body – apat for the one killed him – but the family still dealing with MJ as a drug addict in order to contest the will.

News of The World is a tabloid. I just wonder how much Joe got to accuse his wife.

      Bunch of idiots.

      • Star

Unless my research is wrong, then you are,Bob.
The significate cause of death for M.J. was a drug called Propofol. Well, my bro died of ‘sepsis’ but actually died of incurable Leukemia.

Point is, there were five other drugs found in M.J.’s system. Goggle! According to the L.A. Coroner Dept who is NOT the “News of the World”. Even the doctor who is up on charges says he gave “M.J. three different drugs within 48 hrs”.

M.J.’s name was connected (proven) w/numerous multi-named prescription drugs over the previous 5 yrs. before his death. He did re-hab more than once. Why – are we now trying to re-write history. Michael Jackson was a drug addict! Period…….
The poor soul, indeed, came from a crazy family/situation. But WHEN does self-responsibility come in?

    • yep

That is what Im talking about!
Some one should tell good ole’ Joe that when you point a finger that he needs to remember that there are three more pointing back at you.
Why didn’t you step up DAD?

      • ger

Actually, when I point my finger the other three fingers are kind of curled around and they sort of point off to the side.

      • Mo

I never understood that one, when I point the other 3 fingers are balled up in my palm and thumb is sort of point in the direction of my index finger. A finger point is a fist with your index finger pointing out

    • mary

Joe should realize that Michael started taking drugs because of the terrible father that he was. So really Joe is to blame for the death.

      • LoveUMJ

BS …we all had some bad exp. growing up…so is that make us addict??
It did not made me at all, it made me better and stronger!
We make choices in life and that i what MJ did sadly…as much as i love him, and miss him…it is the choice he made, Joe is not the one to blame for all…he made them a Star also….he did his best 50 years ago, we all been raised a little different, but his the ONE discover the Talent in him, then they grow up and made choices!
I am MJ.I see it different!
        Love u MJ.

    • MarySueBob

How about we lay the blame where it really shoud be – on MJ himself. Sorry, but he was an adult when he died and was making choices about his life. The doctor should have said no, but MJ asked for and got exactly what he wanted.

      • dianne

Agree! I love mj also but that’s the bottom line.

    • ashlee

you’re right about dear ole dad. However, the whole family is about the money, not one of them cared what MJ did as long as he paid their bills. I’s sure dear ole dad asked for a nice fat paycheck before he started pointing fingers at his wife.

      • Doremifah Solatido

Damn straight – within hours of his death, they had carted a truck up to his rental house & started removing things of value. This continued until the attorneys named executors in his will got a court order barring them from the premises. The whole family leeched off the guy his entire life until he cut them out of the picture almost entirely in his later years. Lowlifes all.

    • dianne

And on his own wife. I am a big Jackson supoter I watched them growen up and knew that they had the best of everything now it not the time to say should of could of, he is GONE! People in his walking, and talking path had many times to help. But their hands was always out for a payout from him or his family. AND PEOPLE Who’s in his family are the baddest.
Pray people, when you pass on that you have things together before you pass.

  • Ed

I believe this, because it’s always the mother’s fault.

    • Alan of Montreal

      oh, puh-leeze

      • Miss Talk

        Oh, puh-leeze back.
Joe Jackson is an old tool. He needs to zip it.

    • jan

I hope this was meant to be sarcastic.

    • jan

Joe Jackson is a parasite of the worst kind.
And, you can’t force someone into rehab; they know they have a problem, and it’s up to them to deal with it. All families can really do is add support and love. I suspect Michael’s mom did that.

      • Heather

quietly providing “love and support” to a drug addict is enabling them to continue.

      • Casey

Heather, love and support can mean helping them get clean. It doesn’t necessarily mean enabling.

    • dianne

love and support was there I think to him as an addict behide a shut door. yet the sore was already open know one shair with him how to fix it without drugs. You can hear the love in his mother words but don’t hear the same from dad. His mother and father had a different think going on, his vision seem more towards power and money. her’s is the love of her family and keeping it together. she let mj grow up in that growing up times sometimes we do well, sometimes fail. If you can get up when you Fail is that failing? I say YES! So if any0ne has the blame its mj and people that had a chance to shair with him how to love yourself, after GOD where every and whom you believe in.

  • LOL

    What a sad family.

    • yahoo user

We can guess, and wonder but you will never know the real truth, this could be another made up crap. lord knows people have lied about everything jackson;s. they will forever be the stalked family, lots of lies go along the jackson stories. Just leave mj alone. enough of the negetive reporting.

  • Teena

    Jerk.

  • NoChance

Michael had an on-going relationship with his mother and none with his father. She could have staged and intervention.

    • NobodyYouKnow

Jackson was 50 years old; doesn’t his mother’s responsibility end *somewhere*? Of course, he was only chronologically an adult.

That said, Joe Jackson is a nimrod.

      • Alan of Montreal

Not to mention that he’s the basis for all of Michael’s psychological problems

    • @nochance

Didn’t I remember hearing that the family staged an intervention- possibly several?

    • Ronnie

They actually did stage an intervention.

    • Yes

The intervention she should have done was the one where she would have kicked Joe out of their lives years ago…He’s probably just mad about Michael calling him abusive so he’s trying to point fingers somewhere else. The guy is a creep.

    • LoveUMJ

THANK U..FINALLY …somebody see it the way i do!
The mother influence is the biggest on the childen’s, no matter what age they are..
I AM ALSO A MOTHER…and i am still Guiding my adult children, and it WORKS!
Sorry Kathleen u needed to give TOUGH LOVE TO MJ…HE WILL BE STILL WITH US!
      but u did not!
Now we all sad missing him!
      Love u more MJ!

      • jerzegirl

Are you insane? MJ was a “grown man & if rumors are tre he was an addict. Until the addict realizes he has a problem nothing can be done. The man had a doctor on his payroll! At this point it’s a lot of coulda, woulda, shoulda.

People are forced into rehab everyday by family members etc. but until their ready to face their problems head on, they just come out and use again. Joe Jackson should be ashamed of himself, the woman is still grieving!! What are your poor children going to do if something happens to you? Will they be able to stand up on their own or will they crumble cause you cant “guide them?

  • the truth

Yeah I’m gonna listen to, and believe, someone who is trying to make money off his dead son. I wonder how much money this useless rat got for the interview?.. my favorite moment from him was when someone from cnn interviewed him days after mj’s death, and all he kept doing was pushing his new record label.. such a great dad.. not to mention human being

  • CJKatl

Joe Jackson continues to prove his lack of class, intelligence and dignity. How could he say something like that? Period. To a grieving mother. Does he not realize that if he had treated Michael will throughout his childhood, none of this would have happened? It’s like Joe smashed a glass against the floor and then blamed Katherine for not diving to the ground and catching it in the split second before it shattered. Is there nothing Joe won’t do or say for a buck?

If someone could point out a single redeeming value to Joe Jackson, please do. IMO, the man is a waste of space and air.

    • nonnie

      well said.

    • Barbara Moraillon

I believe he was concerned and trying to be protective in his rough and pathetic way.

  • Ryan

DOUCHE BAG!!! If he the father was so concerned then he could have stepped in. But what can she expect? She has stayed with him all these years.

  • Keith M.

No one is to blame for Michael Jackson’s death. It was an accident. It serves no purpose for people to blame each other for a tragedy. It is so sad to think Michael left his children without a father, his mother and father without a son, and his brothers and sisters without a brother.

  • Kavita

Puh-lease! If Joe Jackson of one of the things hat contributed to Michael’s stress which made him rely too much on drugs. I remember Michael was still crying and hurt by what his father did in the Martin Bashir (another jerk that added to Michael ‘s stress) interview, “Living with Michael Jackson.” Joe seriously needs to face reality and admit that he was wrong.

  • kate

did he really say that or ARE THE MEDIA AND PRESS TELLING US HALF TRUTHS AGAIN. I HAVE TO HEAR WITH MY OWN EAR TO BELEIVE ANYTHING SAID ABOUT MJ.

    • thea

      Amen to that.

      • jenn

don’t beleive everything you hear on the news. I don’t. I caught them in so many lies about mj. He was set up. framed. was it because he was so popular and black. who knows.

  • lila

someone wanted to destroy jackson’s reputation, they had it out for him, even after his death, they are trying to ruin his leagacy with more lies. enough already. mj fans are smart, they see through all the evil lies told about mj. he was killed. period.

    • jenn

I will never beleive the negetive crap they say about mj. It is a ploy to ruin his legacy. his fans are smart. they see through all the lies about mj. Joe is a greedy hot temper alien.

  • shell517nj

Why would he say such a thing? I’m sure as a parent she is probably blaming herself anyway. wondering if she could have done more. but for Joe to put it out there so blatantly. He just needs to shut up and go away. RIP Michael Jackson.

  • SXiPPY

Joe Jackson is a damn fool. It’s a shame what happened to Michael, but Joe was only ever after making a profit and not about caring for his kids. He needs to own the blame for the way Michael turned out. Had he been a better dad maybe Mike never would have turned to drugs after the years of verbal/physical abuse Joe was responsible for.

    • jenn

the media was the one who abused mj.

      • david.

        don’t beleive the press.

      • jenn

All Joe wanted was fame and $$$$. but i don’t buy this story, when it comes to mj, you don’t know what the truth is.

    • Star

There will always be legitiamate ‘reasons’ for what we do in our lives. But don’t confuse that with ‘excuses’ or putting the responsibility to others.
There is no one to blame for MJ’s death but himself. He choose the destructive choices he made, unfortunately. May he find peace!

  • JPX

It’s quite obvious that the true villain in all of this is Joe Jackson. The reason Michael had, and several of his siblings have severe psychiatric problems is because they endured years of childhood physical and most likely sexual abuse at the hands of Joe. You don’t have to look any further than La Toya to see the impact that this abuse has had on the Jacksons even decades later. Joe is a disgusting, vile and greedy individual. His ongoing need to be in the news at the expense of his family only highlights what a soulless being he truly is.

    • yahoo user

quit acting like you know what happen, do you work for the press, I bet you do. anything negetive about mj is not to be trusted, all the speculations and name calling,

      • D’s Advocate

Yes, nothing negative about MJ is to be trusted, because he is and was quite possibly the most perfect human being ever created. Journalists and members of the media, on the other hand, are clearly evil and each one of them are without a single redeeming quality.

    • Jenn

we don’t know the truth about his family, so don’t act like you know them. what we do know for a fact is that mj was abused by the american media and press for years and it did more demage than anyone could have done. false negetive reporting of mj did him in.
