According to the Associated Press, Marvin Isley died of undisclosed causes Sunday morning at a Chicago hospital. He was 56. Isley was the bassist and youngest member of the Isley Brothers on and off until 1996, when health problems — including diabetes (which caused him to lose both legs), a stroke, and a kidney transplant — forced him into retirement.
The Isley Brothers originally formed in 1954, with Marvin joining in 1973. Their biggest hit, the Grammy-winning “It’s Your Thing,” was recorded in 1969. In 1984, Marvin, his brother Ernie, and his brother-in-law Chris Jasper formed Isley-Jasper-Isley, scoring a No. 1 R&B hit with 1985′s “Caravan of Love.” Marvin rejoined the Isleys in 1991, and the group was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.

Wow. First Gary Coleman and Rue McClanahan and now this guy who sang in some band. Sad.
Some band? I advice you to do your homework on the Isley Bros.
