David Carradine's wife files wrongful death suit

Tagged:

David Carradine’s widow filed a lawsuit on Thursday in Los Angeles against the production company behind her late husband’s final film, Stretch, according to court documents. Anne Carradine is suing MK2 S.A., alleging breach of contract and wrongful death. The Kung Fu and Kill Bill star was found dead in his Bangkok hotel room on June 4, 2009 — a year ago today. In the filing, Carradine’s wife claims that the 72-year-old actor was contractually promised “all the best available amenities” and assistance while filming overseas, but that he was left behind for dinner on his third day in the Thai city. The papers allege that the production company’s negligence left the actor on his own on the night before his death.

What a pathetic gold digger this woman must be. She should more ashamed of herself…

Is she broke? Didn’t he have a life insurance policy? That’s too bad that she doesn’t have any money and has to go after the production company for SOMETHING he did to himself. She must have found the attorney in the yellow pages.

I guess it’s true that had he been at dinner, he would not have been in the closet masturbating with a noose around his neck.

Not at that moment, I guess not. But he might have been in the men’s room stall in the restaurant at that same time doing the same thing. Or perhaps he would have just done it later that night in his hotel room.

I hope this suit gets thrown out faster than you can say jerk off and that she has to pay the defendants legal costs.

Let me get this straight. The guy misses dinner, dies from autoerotic asphyxiation, and that is the production company’s fault?

Is this woman for real? This makes absolutely no sense.

    • Sally in Chicago

She dug up some lawyer in the yellow pages to take the case…notice how long it took, almost 2 years? Nobody else would take the case.

This is just about the stupidest (or greediest) thing I’ve ever heard of.

Yes, she’s right, by leaving him behind and unattended, they “forced” him to be bored so that he “had” to do that choking act that ultimately killed him. I mean, they’re responsible for watching him 24/7, never mind that he’s an adult. When he’s sleeping in his room, they’re supposed to have someone standing over him watching him. When he goes to the bathroom, someone should follow him in to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself. I mean, that’s what you’re supposed to do for a grown man who can make his own decisions! Sheesh….

    Back Off!

We don’t know all the private details other than he is now dead and she is left with a young family to support.

A death like this often leaves an absolute ton of unexpected and related bills. On top of that, he doesn’t sound like he was very good with finances.

Leave them alone. Let them do what ever they feel that they need to do in order to heal and move on.

Besides for all we know, she may truly have a case.

    Still Praying.

“Back off”?? Who the hell are you? David Carradine was a public figure and that extends to a family member that decides to file an unwarranted wrongful death suit such as this. So people can talk about it and you can pray about it.

No, no, no. You guys have it all wrong. The production company was contractually obligated to provide “all the best available amenities and assistance…” Mrs. Carradine is right; if David had the assistance (aka Asian prostitute) he was promised, he/she/it could’ve taken the belt from around his neck when they finished. David would still be alive.

That is just so wrong , since when has a employer been held liable for the death of an adult actor? Please elaborate for us all who have never heard of this process of greed and collection off of someone who has passed. I’m curious? I wasn’t even aware he was married, now that just added “creepy” to the list of Where the heck was she when this was all taking place, maybe they should question her?

Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
