Roger Ebert, Brad Pitt and Amy Poehler among Webby award winners
The 14th annual Webby awards, which celebrate online achievements, were announced today. Among the recipients were Brad Pitt, Amy Poehler, and Roger Ebert, who was named person of the year by the 550-member judging panel, the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. The committee commended Ebert for “raising the bar for online journalism.” Pitt picked up a best activist site win for the online component of his Make It Right Foundation, while Poehler earned a best actress award for her online series Smart Girls at the Party. Other winners included Jim Carrey, Lisa Kudrow and Isabella Rossellini. The winners will accept their Webbys June 14 in New York at a ceremony hosted by B.J. Novak of The Office.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus to receive Hollywood Walk of Fame star
Get out! The 49-year-old star of the CBS comedy The New Adventures of the Old Christine will plant her hands on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. The Emmy-winning Louis-Dreyfus is the first of the Seinfeld cast to be awarded such an honor.
Tony nominations: Denzel Washington, 'American Idiot,' 'Fela!', and 'La Cage' earn nods
Musicals Fela! and La Cage aux Folles got some nice early morning love today, leading all Tony Award nominees with 11 nods each. Memphis followed close behind with eight nominations, including Best Musical. As for the plays, Fences lead the pack with 10 nominations, including Best Performance nods for stars Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. The 64th Annual Tony Awards will air on June 13, 2010. 'Top Chef' judge Tom Colicchio wins top honors at 2010 James Beard Awards
Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio was named the top chef of 2010 by the James Beard Foundation at a ceremony held in New York City tonight. The Beard awards — which, according to the AP, are the “Oscars of the food world” — recognize up to 10 years of work. Colicchio has been a finalist for the big prize seven times, and won Beard awards in the past including best chef in NYC, outstanding service, and best cookbook (for his 2001 Think Like a Chef).
Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller not currently seeking divorce
According to People.com, Charlie Sheen and his wife, Brooke Mueller, released a joint statement today saying that the couple — who are dealing with the aftermath of Sheen’s arrest for domestic violence in December — are not currently seeking a divorce. ”Please let us clarify this: They are not seeking a divorce nor has one been contemplated,” read the statement. “There has been no financial agreements between the parties of any sort. Stories to the contrary are false.”
David Boreanaz admits infidelity
Bones star David Boreanaz confesses to cheating on his wife of nearly nine years, Jaime Bergman, in the new issue of People. The actor, 40, tells the magazine he came forward now because a former mistress, who he declined to name, had asked for money in exchange for her continued silence. ”Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities,” Boreanaz says. “I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible.”
The couple, who have two children, are “working on repairing what has been damaged so badly,” Boreanaz says. Bergman also participated in the People interview.

Lynn Redgrave dies at 67

The English actress was nominated for a best actress Academy Award in 1967 and earned a best supporting actress Oscar nod for her work in 1998′s Gods and Monsters. Redgrave’s death comes just one month after that of her older brother Corin Redgrave, and slightly over a year since that of their niece Natasha Richardson (daughter of their sister Vanessa Redgrave).

Seth Green got hitched on May 1, People reports. He wed Clare Grant, a model and actress (Black Snake Moan), at a private Northern California ceremony.
'As the World Turns' star Helen Wagner dies
Actress Helen Wagner, who starred on As the World Turns as Nancy Hughes, has passed away at the age of 91. Wagner, a National Academy of Television lifetime achievement award winner, also holds the Guinness world record for playing Nancy Hughes for 54 years — the longest time an actor has played the same character on television. Wagner died Saturday. “All of us at As the World Turns are deeply saddened by Helen’s passing,” ATWT‘s executive producer, Christopher Goutman, said in a statement. “She is loved by generations of fans and while we will miss her greatly, Helen will always remain the heart and soul of As the World Turns.”
