The AP is reporting that former television chef/host of the Food Network’s Calorie Commando, Juan-Carlos Cruz, was arrested in Santa Monica on Thursday for an alleged murder-for-hire plot involving homeless people. Cruz, 48, was booked on suspicion of solicitation to commit murder and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. He is being held on $5 million bail.

When I heard this I was shocked to hear he was married to a woman. Then I was shocked to hear he wanted to kill her but not that much after hearing they were married for 20 years.
I actually like his shows on the Food Network and wondered what happened to him. I’m guessing nothing good.

I wonder why he tried to get her killed. Did she threaten to divorce him and take half his money? If so, can you really blame him?
