Today host Matt Lauer put allegations of a rumored split with his wife, former model Annette, to rest during an interview with People. “Have we had a completely perfect, easy marriage? No,” the television journalist told the publication from the Cannes Film Festival in France, where he’s been working for the NBC morning show. “But the stories you’ve read over the years are not true. I am living in my apartment with my children as a family and a couple. I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.” Annette, who did briefly file for divorce in 2006, also spoke out, saying, “Out of self respect, I want to stand up for our family and protect them.” The couple have three children and have been married since 1998.

Shouldn’t that be “WE ARE living in OUR apartment with OUR children as a family and a couple”? There is no “I” in “couple.” What a shame Matt hasn’t learned that by now.
