Sofia Vergara announcing should be awesome.

I wonder if McHale will trot out one of his juvenile and snarky comments about Glee when announcing their nominations and how long it will take for him to take his shirt off.

On a more positive note… Sofia Vergara! She’s as funny as she is beautiful. Maybe she can smuggle out a few awards for Modern Family.

Um, Joel McHale has only ever taken off his shirt in ONE episode of ONE show – and it was completely for the purposes of satire, in that the whole episode (about a Paintball competition) was a send-up of sction movie cliches. Plus, his comments about Glee are not juvenile – they’re funny and dead-on. Snarky, maybe, but that show sucks hardcore, so it deser es to be snarked at.

He also got completely naked in another episode of Community. I personally hope he DOES find a reason to take his shirt off.

Why people are so overprotective of Glee, I will never understand. If it’s such a great show, the quality should speak for itself. Personally, I liked it better when it was COP ROCK.

      • Maggie

Yeah, because a show about a high school glee club and singing police are exactly the same.

Best Drama- Lost,True Blood,Mad Men,Friday Night Lights, And the long shot Parenthood! Best Comedy- GLEE,Modern Family,30 Rock,Desperate Housewives, & Ugly Betty!

    • Mia

Actually, the long shot there would be FNL. I love the show to death, but no one in the academy seems to get it.

In last week’s “Community” McHale’s character yells at thier Glee Club, “Sing someting original!”

Glee is dredging up songs best forgotten like ‘Ice Ice Baby’ and ‘Physical’. So the media companies can get more $$ for old song rights.

‘HS Musical’ is better in that they sang original songs, and they were not pretentious. Also, they were not slutty.

    • Iyad

Ur a Dumb Ass! GLEE is the BEST u Loser!

      • Maya

        seriously, Glee?
I’ve watched two episodes and had to wear ear plugs through most of both of them cause most of those actors couldn’t carry a tune if their lives depended on it.

    • m

that episode of community was great!

    • Jack

You see, that would have been funnier if Community wasn’t notorious for taking their storylines from cult movies. Once Community’s writers start writing original scripts and storylines, then Glee can write original songs.

      • erin

There’s a difference between referencing and satirizing movie and television formulae (which I’ll agree Community does often) and adding a hip-hop beat to lame classic rock songs so that 30-something “teenage” characters can lip-sync to them with angsty faces.
the former – awesome. The latter – LAME.

  • Kristen

I wonder if Joel will yell “It’s reality show clip time” when its time to list the nominees?

  • Maya

i know it’s a long shot, but Eric Mabius work on Ugly Betty this season was really amazing. and Vanessa Williams is waaay over due for her Emmy.
and UB should get best comedy only because it was so cruelly taken from us.

though Community is kind of nice, in a quirky kind of way.

  • Chels725

Dude this is awesome. I love both of these actors. Hopefully Community and Modern Family get a good number of acting nominations. They both have amazing casts.

    • erin

      Agreed!

    • Rufus

      JOHN NOBLE FOR FRINGE!!!!
Ok, sorry to geek out there, but this guy has to get nominated.

      • orville

Absolutely! He’s funny, frightening, heartwarming, heartbreaking, and forceful–sometimes all in the same episode.

      • Anonymous

        agreed (:

  • Rufus

I don’t watch Glee, and I find Community’s (which I do watch) obsession with it to be a tad distracting.
That said, its not like McHale is ad-libbing those lines. Hate on the Community creators/writers, not Joel.
    Now…time for My Stories.

  • diego

SHE IS PRETTY. SHES COLOMBIAN THAT LIVE COLOMBIA YES

  • Laura W

Glee awesome! And they only lipsynch some of the time but its real people!

  • orville

I hope that this means that they’re both good shots to get nominations–don’t they usually try to surprise at least one of the presenters by leaving their name off the list they give to that specific person?

  • Emma

I hope Sons of Anarchy get’s nominated for something!!!
I think it’s the best show on TV!

  • Maureen

I want Joel McHale to get nominated for something! Don’t they have a special category or something for unique show formats like The Soup? He’s so darn funny, he really should get more recognition. ;)

  • Dan

When did this trend of televising the nominations and using potential nominees start? It seems a bit silly.

That said, I am definitely watching McHale and Vegara make the announcements, both of them are funny beyond belief (BTW: I love glee, and I also love McHale when he makes fun of shows I love).

  • Cyndi

Don’t Glee and Community film on the same studio or set? I recall hearing Joel say something about how Glee’s shooting schedule often ends up messing up the Community shooting schedule. Which is part of the reason they take cheap shots at Glee.
