Extremely sad news to hear after MOTHERS DAY. The last Afro-American Icon who paved the way for todays black actresses. She will definitely be missed. I have been a fan of Ms. Horne for years and I was sad when I saw the news of her death on this board. R.I.P.

I’m saddened to hear this. But am I also glad at what she was able achieve in her lifetime, especially in an era where black entertainers saw so very few opportunities. And as a result, she became a civil rights activist, and she did a lot in her part to improve society. RIP Lena.

Truly talented woman. I do remember seeing her when I was very young on the Muppet show, but will always remember her best on the Cosby show. RIP.

Today’s talent could learn a lot about beauty and class from this wonderful woman. She defined gorgeous and gracious and never had to flaunt anything to get ahead. Thanks for making this world a better place, Miss Horne.

Funny I was watching “The Wiz” this pass Saturday night.I suddenly felt compelled to look her up and saw she had died. Thought that maybe that was a rumor..What a beautiful black woman. So talented! Hope now her story will be told on the big screen!

She merits a film bio, but who could possibly play her? Remember when Jennifer Love Hewitt played Audrey Hepburn? Something like that should never happen again.
