Former NFL linebacker and Dancing With the Stars contestant Lawrence Taylor was arrested this morning in Montebello, N.Y., reports The New York Times. Expect third-degree rape charges to be filed against the football player, who allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl. “She was a runaway since March and there was a pimp involved,” Ramapo police supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence told the Times. “She got punched in the face. We’re not sure who did it.” Police will hold a press conference later today to further discuss the arrest. The victim was treated in the hospital.

It’s been years since I’ve seen a 15-year-old girl who actually LOOKS 15. I’m not excusing any kind of assault on a minor, but our society openly condones young females dressing like hookers. You can’t create the outrageously permissive environment that teens enjoy in this country, then cry foul when something like this happens. I know parents who allow their daughters out of the house in Daisy Dukes, and let them cuss like truckers. THERE’S the root of your problem. Many teenage girls have forgotten what it means to be a lady.
That’s ridiculous. You ARE excusing assault on a minor. You are also putting the responsibility on young girls to make sure they aren’t raped. Do you know what actually needs to change? Men need to stop having sex with kids and stop raping people. If a teen walks down the street in her underwear she should still not be touched. What a parent allows their child to wear is a personal matter. The root of the problem is men that feel entitled to whatever they want, and the idea that if you don’t dress like a nice girl, you are asking for it. Let me say one more time that your comment is absolutely ridiculous to me.

I think what Jonah is saying is that these kids who are allowed to run out of control are subjecting theirselves to situations that they will not have ANY control of. When you run away from home, you’re putting yourself on Harm’s Road. When you ACT like you’re GROWN, you tend to be put in a GROWN person’s world (which isn’t good for MOST ADULTS as it is!). Don’t know if she knew this “pimp” or if she was befriended by someone for monetary gain. But, for sure HE should go down as well! You see, the girl wasn’t RAPED (as it seems) if she was SELLING her body. It may be DEEMED rape, but, she had to have been (in some way) sexually active and behaving in a GROWN manner in the streets. If it was forced, she should have and probably could have gotten away, called police or alerted an Adult about her situation. HELL, maybe she was being abused at home! But, all in all, it’s ALL wrong at the end of the day. And it’s ashame it ALL had to happen.

You people need to get over yourselves and accept reality. Not only does this society sexualize young women and tell them it’s okay to dress like trash, it tells young men that problems can be solved with fists, rather than brains. Young people today are the way they are because they DON’T get the right messages from adults, because they AREN’T made to respect authority, or themselves. They way men treat and objectify women is mirrored in tv shows, movies, songs, etc–it’s the way our society OPERATES. We have an entire generation that’s morally bankrupt, raised on reality tv and misogynistic/misanthropic song lyrics, with disposable values and an instant-gratification mentality. We’ve created this environment for young people and now the crows have come home to roost. Stop obsessing over what SHOULD be and accept the reality of what IS. To change the wrong, you must first admit it.

According to NY statutes, he was arrested for having s ex with someone under seventeen (that’s what the third degree part of the charge means). All we know is that he went to a pros titute who had a p imp, she was fifteen, and someone hit her.

I hope my post didn’t give birth to “bitter beer faces”! All I’m saying is that these kids have got to quit running to the streets as their safety net. Why did she run away? Why did she stay w/ this “pimp” for a few WEEKS?) Why didn’t she text her Uncle when she left home? How did she know Rasheed Davis…did she even know he was a “pimp”? Kids if you’re reading this don’t EVER turn to the STREETS as an escape route! Listen to your parents/stay in school/BEHAVE LIKE CHILDREN SHOULD (you’ll have PLENTY of time to be GROWN later)/don’t run away from home…if you must turn to sommeone make it a responsible adult or an organization that can help you or maybe your church (if you have one). One thing’s for sure…I haven’t seen LT on ANY NutriSystem commercials today (have you noticed that?).

“what about” in no way did KC blame the victim. they even stated that if you need help turn to a responsible adult, organization, or church if they have one. there are options to going to the streets. my wife is a junior high teacher, and has had a few kids who have trouble at home that come to her when they can’t take it anymore and want to run away. she’s alway been able to listen to them and get them some help they need. they just need to tell someone, people do care.

we dont even know if its true, you were’nt there so u wouldnt know wat really happened someone could be leing, about it, just for the money its not the 1st time something like this happened!!dont believe rumors all the time, i know rape charges are major but we should take the time to give a second look.
