Fox News celebrates 100 straight months on top

For the 100th consecutive month, Fox News Channel is the most watched cable news network. Beginning in January 2002, Fox has distanced itself from its rivals to the point that it now airs nine of the top-10 most-watched cable news programs, including The O’Reilly Factor, Glenn Beck, and Hannity. Even repeats of O’Reilly surpass new episodes of MSNBC’s biggest draw, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, according to Nielsen Media Research.

This makes me scared too! I myself prefer Anderson Cooper the silver fox!

I know I might be among the minority to post this on here but I find this to be great news.

      I am with you.

There are conservatives out there that watch fox news that dont watch O’Reilly or beck, but want lower taxes and less government. We watch porn just like everyone else and are not racists.

This tells me that Nielsens have a certain type of family that they choose for their Nielsen boxes. Where are the statistics to show the demo the Nielsens are culling from? This is more proof that the Nielsen’s are not relevant.

Good point! My husband and I watch entirely too much tv and have a satellite package with over 700 channels and have never been asked to be a Nielsen family. Guess you need to have kids?

I’m a huge KO fan, I love his show, I think he is funny, informative, and fearless, the fact that his numbers are lower means nothing to me, more people watch “American Idol” than the cable programs combined

Most of the content on cable “news” channels isn’t even real news–its commentary or talk shows. I prefer getting the facts and forming my own opinions.

    its a no-brainer.
With todays polarized politics, all the mindless drones, susceptible to being overwhelmed by “us vs them” shock-politics pushers, go to the same source for their “news”. The people who can actually think, and analyze information, use a variety of news sources and judge the information for themselves. Being the number 1 new channel is not a >50% share. Without numbers posted it might just be the only one of ten with more than 10%.
