Roman Polanski’s legal team is not happy with Thursday’s California court decision rejecting the director’s appeal to be sentenced for his 33-year-old unlawful sexual intercourse case in absentia. On Saturday, lawyer Herve Temime told Europe 1 radio, “One gets the feeling that there’s the desire to see him arrive in shackles, when there’s no reason why Roman Polanski should be extradited, none at all,” reports ABC News. The director has been living under house arrest in Switzerland. The Associated Press reports that the Swiss Justice Ministry had been waiting for the California decision before ruling if and when Polanski would be extradited back to the United States to face sentencing. U.S. prosecutors say the French-born Oscar-winner could spend up to two years in prison.

That’s right, we want to see him do the perp walk. Just like Michael Jackson should have done.
Then maybe Michael Jackson should have been found guilty.
Arrive in shackles? Well, yeah. He pled guilty to a sex crime and then ran away before he could be sentenced. He’s a fugitive, and fugitives come to court to sort out their legal issues. Why does he think he’s so special?
Why does anyone think he’s above the law? He may be a brilliant filmmaker – that does not get you a special card that allows you to do whatever you want.
If they give in and say, Fine, Guilty in Absentia, you were “punished” enough by being forced to live in Europe, there will be a loud cheer from every criminal in the country. Anyone arrested and sentenced will believe they can run away just because they don’t like the terms of their punishment.
Yup, I want to see him arrive in shackles. Trufax.
We want to see a life-ruining, common criminal get treated justly, like everyone else would be, despite him being rich, famous and talented? How dare we.
Extradite him.
He’s a rapist and a coward. Of course bring him back in shackles. The oh-so-terrible shame he’s afraid of is only being magnified by his own actions. Be a man and face the punishment.
That wouldn’t hurt him. It would just humble him. And he SHOULD be ashamed.
In shackles is what you do with felons who have run from the justice system. Rapists and pedophiles deserve that kind of treatment.
Man… that lawyer doesn’t want to know what I desire to see happen to the man.
He anal raped a 13 year old after giving her a quaalude and booze – she was screaming no and stop and crying the whole time. Then, he plead guilty to a much lesser offense but it was too much for him to face the jail time he so richly deserved – so he jumped bail and has been living quite a nice life for the past 30 years.
Yup, he deserves to do the perp walk. And much, much more.
You pled guilty, then you fled. Fact is, you have been in the U.S. several times incognito, therefore, you have “escaped” many
times. Stand up, return and face
the inevitable, then make a movie
about your adventure. Capitalize,
man. What an opportunity! You have succeeded in becoming an international JERK!
I don’t want to see him arrive here in shackles as much as I want to see him behind bars. And then I want to forget about him.
Yup, I’ll cop to wanting to see him in shackles. He’s gotten away with his crimes for decades; I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.
Good to see everyone else on here agrees that this guy should be put away. Sick perverts deserve more then to just arrive in shackles…
Why does Polanski think he’s better than any other convicted sex offender? He pleaded guilty, and needs to do his time. If he hadn’t run, this would have been over decades ago. Polanski is the person at fault here; he’s not a victim.
He’s a child molester. “Shackles”? Cry me a f***ing river.
