Where is Tree Of Life?????
KATE BECKINSALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF???????????????
I DON’T KNOW WHY WE’RE YELLLING! LOUD NOISES!!!! I love lamp.
The line up isn’t that impressive, but I agree Kate Beckinsale is a very random edition to the jury.
And I also thought Tree of Life was going to be there.
“KATE BECKINSALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF???????????????”
What’s your problem with Kate Beckinsale? She’s an actress, she speaks French, and she’s incredibly smart. In fact, she’s probably smarter than any of the other judges. She was an honor student at Oxford while studying Russian and French literature. She speaks three languages fluently, and won 2 national British writing awards as a teenager.
That’s great and all (you really know your Beckinsale trivia…) but unfortunately none of that has to do with cinema.
Cannes festival’s jury has always been cast not only by cinema-specialist. It’s been a tradition to mix people coming from different art forms, so I wouldn’t say having litteracy knowledge does not have a thing to do with being cast in this festival. I think there trying to have a variety of opinions, wether they’re old experienced ones, or fresh ones; after all doesnt richness comes from variety (or something like that)
Kate Beckinsale…Haven’t heard from her for a while. Is she even acting again? They should have invited her husband instead.
Tim Burton is the president of the jury this year? oh boy
I accept that Kate Beckinsale is intelligent, but her film career on the whole is very unimpressive, so I don’t actually get what qualifies her to judge at the most prestigious film festival in the world.
Great job, Jerry. This is a really nice video exniniplag the benefits of creating a makerspace as a community hub for local makers. Now, if I could only come see it for myself
I wonder how much money Kate Beckinsale payed in order to get a jury seat. Let’s face it…she’s not a very good actress, she’s not particularly attractive, and her choice of film roles is dubious at best (which makes sense considering her general lack of talent). I don’t doubt that she’s somewhat bright, but she’s definitely a lightweight actress. Can you ever imagine this woman with an Oscar nomination? Even one that’s completely undeserved? I didn’t think so. Anyway, perhaps the Cannes organization thought putting a B-list actress (who’s somewhat well known) on the jury would raise the competition’s profile. Mistake. Big time.
I love Robin Hodd: Prince of Thieves, but I am just as excited to see the Russel Crowe Robin Hood movie. Looks like it’s gonna rock!!
Kate Beckinsale was great in The Aviator.
…and her dad was good in Porridge.
