Universal Orlando Resort has announced that the official opening date for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be revealed March 25, at noon EST, on its website, www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter. Until now, the date has only been known as Spring 2010. Full details about the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction will also be shared that day. It’s said to use groundbreaking technology and “a little magic” to create a ride that takes you inside Hogwarts and soaring above the castle grounds.

Producer files $35 million lawsuit against Lady Gaga
The Associated Press reports a music producer has filed a $35 million lawsuit against Lady Gaga, claiming she denied him 20 percent share of song royalties, 15 percent of merchandising revenue and more. The producer, Rob Fusari — who co-wrote “Paparazzi” and “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” — once dated the Grammy winner. “All business is personal,” the lawsuit says, according to the AP.
'Twilight' actor Peter Facinelli signs up for a pair of movies
Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight series, has signed on for two movies with director Michael Corrente (Brooklyn Rules, A Shot at Glory), according to Variety. The first, Loosies, is about a New York City pickpocket who discovers that a former one-night stand is pregnant with his child. The second, the biopic Paz, recounts the comeback of boxer Vinny Paz after a near-fatal car crash. Facinelli wrote the script for Loosies, which will start production in the summer, while Paz is slated for 2011.
Christiane Amanpour moving to ABC
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour is moving to ABC News as the new anchor of This Week. Along with the new gig, Amanpour will also serve as a foreign affairs analyst on some of the network’s other programs. Amanpour will take over for interim anchor Jake Tapper in August.
Sarah Palin's reality show close to finding a network
Sarah Palin’s proposed reality show, in which she’d take viewers on a travelogue-type tour of of her home state of Alaska, could wind up in the hands of either A&E or the Discovery Networks, Variety reports. The two networks are reportedly finalizing their bids for the program, which is being produced by Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Apprentice) and may cost around $1 million per episode. Burnett and Palin pitched the show to the four major broadcast networks, but they all passed on the project. A decision is expected to be reached within the next couple of days.
Jesse James issues apology to Sandra Bullock and children
Jesse James has issued a vague apology to Sandra Bullock and his children, in light of the tabloid claims that he had an affair. In a statement provided to People, James says: “The vast majority of the allegations reported are untrue and unfounded. Beyond that, I will not dignify these private matters with any further public comment. There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me. It’s because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way. This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me.” Yesterday, Bullock canceled her appearance at the London premiere of The Blind Side amidst the infidelity rumors.
'Davy Crockett"s Fess Parker dies
Fess Parker, the man who donned a raccoon-skinned cap for years as Davy Crockett, has passed away, the Los Angeles Times reports. Parker, 85, died of complications from old age in California. Parker also portrayed Daniel Boone in the series of the same name, and appeared on shows like Dragnet and The Andy Williams Show.
Skeet Ulrich cast in CBS medical drama pilot
Maybe the third time’s the charm? After CBS cast Skeet Ulrich in Jericho — which was canceled in 2008 — and last year’s pilot Back, the network has been tapped the actor for another pilot, this time an untitled medical drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The pilot, written by Hannah Shakespeare and produced by John Wells, follows a “mobile medical team” that helps those in need around the U.S. Ulrich was cast as a Harvard alum and “cardiologist with rock star looks.” He also has plenty of demons: Ulrich’s character, a single dad, is still in love with his junkie ex-wife.
Jamie Foxx in talks for 'Kane & Lynch'
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Foxx is in talks to star alongside Bruce Willis in Kane & Lynch. The film, directed by Simon Crane, is an adaptation of the popular video game.
