Palm Pixi Plus and Pre Plus heading to AT&T

Palm’s Pre Plus and Pixi Plus smartphones will be available from AT&T in the coming months, the companies announced today. The announcement comes on the heels of disappointing sales for both devices; as of Saturday, Palm shares had dropped more than 60 percent this year.

Aziz Ansari in talks to host 2010 MTV Movie Awards: Report

The LA Times‘ Show Tracker is reporting that Parks and Recreation star and comedian Aziz Ansari is in final negotiations to host the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, set to air on June 6. Ansari’s reps could not be reached and MTV had no comment.

Tate Donovan joins ABC drama pilot

Damages co-star Tate Donovan has joined ABC’s drama pilot No Ordinary Family, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The drama revolves around Jim (Michael Chiklis), the head of a typical American family that suddenly finds itself with new “abilities.” Donovan will play a “mysterious pilot.”

Jessica Chastain to star opposite Sam Worthington in 'The Fields'

Jessica Chastain (Stolen) will costar with Avatar’s Sam Worthington in the Ami Canaan Mann-directed thriller The Fields. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Worthington plays a homicide detective in Texas fighting two sets of killers to save a runaway named Little Anne. Chastain will play his ex-wife, another homicide detective, also working the case.

Warner Bros. planning film adaptation of manga 'Bleach'

The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision reports that Warner Bros. is working to secure the film rights to Bleach, a manga written by Tite Kubo that has been published since 2001. The story follows a 15-year old boy who can see ghosts and who learns to fight evil when he inadvertently acquires the power of a female Soul Reaper, who in turn becomes trapped in the human world. Bleach has already been an anime series in Japan and an English version airs on the Cartoon Network. Get Smart director Peter Segal is negotiating to produce the film version.

Jennifer Connelly and Greg Kinnear join 'Salvation Boulevard'

Variety reports that Jennifer Connelly and Greg Kinnear have joined the cast of the comedy-thriller Salvation Boulevard. Marisa Tomei is also in negotiations. Pierce Brosnan, Ed Harris, and Jim Gaffigan have already been announced. The film follows “a former Deadhead turned born-again Christian who finds himself on the run from fundamentalist members of his mega-church who will do anything to protect their larger-than-life pastor.” Filming is expected to begin in April.

Starz to launch 'Camelot'

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Starz—the network behind Spartacus: Blood and Sand—has greenlit a retelling of the Camelot story and the legend of King Arthur. The 10-episode romantic-adventure series will air in the first half of 2011 and is being written by Torchwood writer Chris Chibnall. Casting is currently underway.

'Heroes' star Jack Coleman to star in Hallmark movie

Jack Coleman, Noah Bennet a.k.a. H.R.G. on Heroes, will star in the Hallmark Channel original film Rock the House. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’ll play an attorney who doesn’t make time for his teenage daughter (Big Love‘s Cassi Thomson) — until he gets an invitation to his 25th high school reunion. He reconnects with old friends (his former band, the Groaners) and reprioritizes. It will air in 2011.

Conan O'Brien approached about 'Idol Gives Back' appearance

The Hollywood Reporter‘s Live Feed is reporting that Conan O’Brien was approached to appear on the special American Idol episode, “Idol Gives Back” on April 21. Though it would appear O’Brien can’t accept given his settlement terms with NBC that prohibit him from making any TV appearances before May 1, the offer is still an intriguing development  in the ongoing talks with Fox about a potential late-night show for O’Brien on the network. O’Brien’s 30-city comedy tour—called the “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour — begins on April 12 in Eugene, Ore.

Star Jones recovering after surgery

Star Jones is recovering from a surgical procedure she had done on Wednesday, her rep revealed today. In a statement to People, a rep for Jones said, “On Wednesday, March 17th, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones. This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.”
