DreamWorks has won the bidding war for Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer’s next film, according the The Hollywood Reporter. The movie is still untitled but will be a buddy action-comedy. Fleischer has been in hot demand since last fall’s Zombieland; even Tom Cruise reportedly tried to get him for Mission: Impossible IV.

Erica Hill — former CNN anchor who now appears on CBS’ The Early Show — has given birth to her second son, People is reporting. Sawyer Steven Yount was born March 23 in New York City.
Sarah Palin TV show headed to Discovery
People is reporting that a source has confirmed that Sarah Palin’s Alaskan reality show with Mark Burnett is headed to the Discovery Channel. The former governor of Alaska has reportedly picked up $1 million per episode. As previously reported by EW, which broke the news that Palin was doing a show earlier this month, the project will be a travelogue-type documentary in which Palin gives viewers an intimate look at her home state.

Fox affiliates chairman says Conan O'Brien 'doesn't seem to be on the front burner'
Despite recent reports that negotiations to bring Conan O’Brien to Fox were advancing, the network’s affiliates chairman, Brian Brady, tells Broadcast & Cable: “To the best of my knowledge, no pressure has been asserted on any Fox affiliates [by the network]. There’s nothing definitive on Conan right now.” Brady acknowledges that a late-night show hosted by O’Brien will probably be discussed next month as part of the National Association of Broadcasters confab, but that “Conan doesn’t seem to be on the front burner. If it was, I’d be hearing about it.”

Michael Jackson's doctor to face license suspension
Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s former doctor, could have his medical license revoked if a petition — filed yesterday in Los Angeles by Jerry Brown on behalf of the California Medical Board — is approved, according to Reuters. In the 12-page filing, Brown states: “[The] Defendant is alleged to have administered a lethal dose of propofol and other powerful drugs to patient M.J., which resulted in the patient’s death. The exercise of such poor professional judgment and placing the life of a patient in jeopardy requires that the [California Medical] Board take measures to protect the public from future harm.” Murray a cardiologist, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges in the pop star’s death. He is free on $75,000 bail and if convicted, faces up to four years in jail.
Keira Knightley, Eric Bana and Richard Gere cast in 'Emperor's Children'
Keira Knightley, Eric Bana and Richard Gere have joined the cast of the Ron Howard-Brian Grazer-produced The Emperor’s Children, according to The Wrap. The film is adapted from the 2006 bestselling novel by Claire Messud about three Brown University graduates entering their 30s and living in a pre- and post-9/11 world. Noah Baumbach (Greenberg) will write and direct the dramedy, which is scheduled to start shooting this summer.
Justin Bieber's manager arrested
Justin Beiber’s manager was arrested today in Long Island, N.Y. in connection with the pop singer’s appearance last November at a local mall. Scott Braun, 28, surrendered today and will be arraigned on charges of reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance. According to police, when the crowd at Bieber’s mall appearance became unruly, it took Braun 1.5 hours to send two Twitter messages that the event had been canceled, though his lawyer said it took seven minutes. Braun faces up to a year in prison if convicted. Police also arrested a vice president at Bieber’s record label.
Oprah Winfrey settles defamation suit
Oprah Winfrey has settled a defamation lawsuit filed by the former headmistress of Winfrey’s school for girls in South Africa. Lerato Nomvuyo Mzamane had filed a suit against the talk-show titan in 2008, in the wake of Winfrey’s comments about sex-abuse allegations at her South African Leadership Academy for Girls. A joint statement posted on Oprah.com said that “The two parties met woman to woman without their lawyers and are happy that they could resolve this dispute peacefully to their mutual satisfaction. Ms. Winfrey testified in her deposition that she did not intend the implications placed on her words by the plaintiff. Ms. Mzamane testified in her deposition that she has no evidence that Ms. Winfrey knowingly made a false statement about her…”
