According to an HBO spokesperson, David Mills, an Emmy-award-winning writer who scripted episodes for The Wire, ER, Homicide: Life on the Street, and NYPD Blue, died on Tuesday in New Orleans. Mills had been in New Orleans working on David Simon’s new series for HBO, Treme, which will premiere on April 11.
