I agree with her and with you. The political campaign was unbelievable and that last scene was ridiculous.

It seems no one is allowed to be honest anymore. She should not have to apologize for telling the truth. It seems lying is acceptable though.

I hope in this season the threesome ladies will move into the Great House with Bill. It may then return to the family story it needs to be (be it polygamist).
“Boundaries” will be the main issue I for predict.

I predict (not I for predict). I would like to see a grandparent move in with them as well, maybe Bill’s mother?

As a side story line, arguments on the decorating of the Great House. total different styles for the three wives. Guess it comes back to boundaries again.

Count me in as another one who thought this past season’s writing was just not up to snuff. It was just too stupidly far-fetched.

Somebody finally said it! Unfortunately it was Chloe and how she might have a sticky situation with HBO. My husband and I are fans but we complained all season that the multiple story lines intertwining were just too much! Between the campaign, the casino, Joey and Wanda, J.J., the fiasco in Mexico, Alby, Anna turning up pregnant, Ben and Margene, there was just too much going on constantly and it would give us a stomachache trying to watch each episode.

Chloe said it right too – the political story line is way too far-fetched and should never have been introduced. Bill never would have won the election, but now that he has been, it is crazy not to think that he will not be immediately ousted for his illegal polygamy. The writers would have been better off focusing on just the family drama – how Nicki reconciles her love for Bill, how Margene deals with her search for independence as a business woman. They could have kept the drama with Anna´s pregnancy because I like her character and I think it would have still created the family conflict without it being tied into a possible political scandal. Also I would have liked to have seen Amanda Seyfried more in her final season – they could have dealt a little bit more with her leaving Utah and setting off on her own with her new husband and married life.

Bill is not a likeable character he is arrogant and self-entitled–but instead of being “in charge” of one woman he has three wives who bow to him–he is their “priest” –how backward can you be to agree to this lifestyle as a woman—why Barb puts up with him at all is beyond real–I doubt polygamy would ever be acceptable in a politcal figure –

Maybe Chloe didn’t like the storyline and plot of last season, just wasn’t comfortable with the direction of the show. I don’t think she meant to slam the show’s producers, she personally didn’t like the storylines and the telenovela like themes. This is no different–even some pop singers doen’t like some songs they recorded that became huge hits. They’re just not satified with the end result.

I agree totally! You had to buy that Bill would risk his entire family for the sake of political power in order for any of the other developments to even occur, and that just didn’t seem in Bill’s character. So the whole season did seem contrived. She’s right. I’ve watched it from the beginning and will watch till the end, but I’m just sayin. The writers should have gone where the heart was — all the emotional intensity was with Albie and his suicided lover. They skipped over that and went right to the far-fetched political stuff. Go back to Albie and the war for his soul.
