Variety reports that drummer and actor Bernard “Bunchy” Johnson passed away March 21 following a heart attack. The actor — a New Orleans native — had starred in films like Monster’s Ball, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and Love Song for Bobby Long. Johnson had also just wrapped scenes in the new HBO series from David Simon, Treme.
