Singer Johnny Maestro, the man who sang the 1958 doo-wop ballad “16 Candles” with the Crests and spent many years with The Brooklyn Bridge, who had a top-five hit with “The Worst That Could Happen,” has passed away in Florida after a battle with cancer. He was 70.

I met Johnny last June after his concert,he was very friendly and will be sadly missed.

Grew up listening to Johnny..saw him w/the B.B. several times over the years..his voice was amazing..didn’t know him but he seemed to be a classy guy….He will be missed by many R.I.P.
