'Breaking Bad' premieres to best ratings ever

Filed under: News and tagged: ,

Last night’s return of Breaking Bad proved to be the AMC show’s best showing ever, scoring 2 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (That’s 3.3 million, if you count the two repeat airings of the season three premiere.) The audience grew a total of 17 percent from season two’s premiere, the last night’s episode drew in 663,000 viewers among adults 18-49.

They would’ve had MORE viewers had the DVD for season 2 came out earlier than last Tues. I’m only halfway through season 2 (and I doubt I’m the only new fan desperately trying to catch up). Sure hope season 3 is on On Demand.

Next to Lost, this is the best show currently on TV

And also next to Friday Night Lights, but agreed!

I absolutely hate when studios do this, it makes no sense. You want the previous season to get people amped/interested/caught up for the new season so you release it at least 3 weeks to a month before, not less than a week. Makes no sense.

This is why I downloaded season two after watching one on DVD. If it’s not on demand you can always download which ever season three episodes you need.

I’m glad this show is finally getting some attention. Before it was like a little secret but hopefully the audience grows. It deserves it.

love this show! but would like more interaction between Walt & Jesse, and less whining from Skylar.

I really hate Skylar. I’m glad she’s not a pushover, but the way she got in Walt’s face in “ABQ” and was so damned smug, -I- wanted to hit her.

      • Hunter

He lied to her for the entire season. Why would she not get in his face? It cracks me up how people call standing up to lies “whining”…

    Love it, love it. Bravo!

I agree! What took so long to get season two out on DVD? What a great series. This proves the best TV is not found on major networks!

One of the 5 best shows on TV. I agree- more Jesse and Walt-less skylar whining. Bring on the ominous mexican twins!

  • Gregoire

It’s such a dark, dark show! So glad it’s hitting its stride.

been on this show since day ONE! it NEVER fails to disappoint..Bryan Cranston has truly given us one of the great TV characters of all time. Deserves those Emmys! It’s dark..funny..trippy..violent and heartbreaking all at the same time. what a show!

Season two should’ve been released last November.

Thankfully Lionsgate is a bit smarter and Mad Men season three is out on DVD 4-5 months before season four starts.

    Great opener.

Congrats to the BB cast and crew on the ratings… this and Mad Men are the two best shows on TV. I hope Bryan Cranston gets a third Emmy because he is just incredible.
