Cesar Chavez biopic in the works

Hotel Rwanda cowriter Keir Pearson and producer Larry Meli have optioned the rights to make a feature film about the life of Cesar Chavez, the Mexican-American who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers of America. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pearson will write the script, and produce the film with Meli for Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna’s Canana Films.
