Tiger Woods announced that he will make his return to professional golf at the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Ga. on April 8. In a statement posted on his website, Woods explained that, “After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta. The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be.”
Woods hasn’t played competitive golf since last November, and his career and image suffered a considerable setback after a Nov. 27 car accident and the subsequent revelation of several extramarital affairs. In the statement, Woods also says he’s undergone inpatient therapy. “I am continuing my treatment,” he said. “Although I’m returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life.”

Wow. Didn’t all of the golf pundits predict that he would be back in April? Some ‘indefinite’ break.
i agree.
i never thought that an indefinite break from golf meant 4 months.
I agree. I can’t help but think Tiger knew all along that he would return for the Masters. This “indefinite break” all seems pre-conceived and insincere to me. I don’t buy a word Tiger say anymore, anyway.
Tiger’s doctors told him no baiting at the Masters because it might lead to a relapse.
I agree Lee, I feel the same way.
EW, I love you, but are you a tabloid rag? I love EW because they write about the arts and entertainment, not irrelevant celebrity gossip. As Gob Bluth would say, “C’mon!”
He’s the most famous athlete in the world returning to his sport after a very public issue. I don’t think EW reporting his return is “irrelevant celebrity gossip.” Honestly I wish that EW would cover more sports (although hopefully in better situations than this) because sports at it’s core is entertainment.
He knows Chicks dig the green jacket
ok great now everyone can stop talking about his personal life…yeah right
I don’t care if he is returning; I just hope the other golfers get the attention they deserve. I don’t want this Masters to be all about TW.
