A federal judge has ordered Oprah Winfrey to stand trial to defend a defamation lawsuit filed by Nomvuyo Mzamane, the former headmistress of Winfrey’s South Africa school. According to the Associated Press, Mzamane claims the talk show host defamed her in 2007 after reports of sexual abuse in the school hit press. (A dorm matron was charged with abusing the students.) The trial is scheduled for March 29 in Philadelphia.
