Tobey Maguire is committed to star as Bobby Fischer in the film Pawn Sacrifice, according to Deadline. Yesterday, Variety reported that Fight Club auteur David Fincher was attached to direct the movie about the legendary chess player.

Yaaay! I thought he was unfairly snubbed for Brothers and he should’ve gotten much more recognition like 10 years ago when he did Cider House Rules and Wonder Boys. This is a pretty plumb role and it seems like he’s so over Spider-Man.
