'Pants on the Ground' singer Larry Platt sued by distribution company

General Larry Platt, whose “Pants on the Ground” American Idol audition song won him a pop culture 15 minutes, has been sued by a production company, American King Music, for expenses related to the song’s production.

AKM reportedly funded a recording session with Platt and the rapper Mims to produce a full-length version of “Pants,” but Platt subsequently changed management, and, the company claims, “failed or refused to sign the final draft of the distribution agreement,” according to court papers obtained by EW.

The plaintiffs are seeking a court judgment recognizing their partial ownership of the song, and authorization to distribute it.

Who cares? The song isn’t a hit and it wasn’t very funny in the first place. Lame.

… if he failed to sign the final agreement, then doesn’t that mean that legally there was no agreement.

That’s like whining because someone doesn’t buy your house when they expressed interest before. You can bitch all you want, but that doesn’t mean they have to buy your house.

If no money exchanged hands and no papers were signed then this is going nowhere.

This is a testament to how stupid America is today.

pants on the grund is a funny song and makes people laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They should just leave that old man alone. Pants on the ground was just a funny song that got us pumped and ready to see the American Idol show. They didnt have to go all out and turn it into a big hit with rappin and music videos. Larry Platt was just a general who probably made that song to make his grandkids laugh. And then it turns to sueing. Why don’t these people just leave him alone.

Does anyone here know the GENERAL happens to be one of the last living leaders of the Civil Rights Movement? Look it up. Thats why he is called the General. He is not just a clown with a song. This man is living history.

they really just need to leave him alone i mean if he decides to get out in the middle then he is not obligated to sign the agreement and therefore they really have no case against him. I agree with kittie8889 about people just wanting to sue anybody for anything anymore and that they do need to get over themselves.
