    Who won best Comedy Series?

    • Dennis

They won’t announce the winner for that category until the LA ceremony.

  • Mike

Outstanding Daytime Drama : One Life to Live – which is blaming their low ratings on the ‘gay story’ and writing the characters off.

  • Vikki Sixx

I can’t believe Guiding Light didn’t win for daytime drama due to the Otalia storyline. And OLTL’s declining ratings are due to the fact that the vast majority of the faces on the canvas weren’t there just a year ago. They have completely alienated so many longtime fans. I watched OLTL off and on for 20 years and can’t stand it these days. That’s why I switched to ATWT which regretfully is going off the air:(

Gee, an award for propaganda (aka only showing “positive” portrayals of gay people.) What an honor.

    • Fatima

Lala is kind of a gay name, just saying :)

    • lala

Unfortunately it’s not as romantic as having “fat” in your name, though.

      • Gord

and Lala wins Most Negative Person at the Negativity Awards.

      • lala

        Well, sometimes “negativity” = “truth”.

      • Fatima

Oh my God! You know, I’ve gone my whole life without ever hearing that?!
And yes, “truth” is commenting on the weight of a person you’ve never seen. Thanks for that.

“Gee, an award for propaganda (aka only showing “positive” portrayals of gay people.) What an honor.”

    Should they award negative portrayals?

    • lala

No moron, they shouldn’t give out a propaganda award at all.

So are the ALMA and NAACP awrads “propoganda” awards too?

“I can’t believe Guiding Light didn’t win for daytime drama due to the Otalia storyline.”

CBS/P&G wouldn’t let them kiss except for that one time. I can see why an organization like GLAAD would not want to reward that.

    • lala

Yeah, but showing graphic portrayals of gay sex like past winners like Nip/Tuck is really the height of what’s deserving of an honor.

  • shawndee

    The Advocate really irritates me.

  • Lala

Whew, I was confused about the Parks & Recreation win until I realized it was about the Pawnee Zoo episode. At first glance it looked like they were giving an award regarding the “gay boyfriend” storyline because it has been more prevalent on the show.

  • sam

I find it rather odd that Joy Behar is being given this award. Although I know that she claims friendship with many gay comics, she also makes nasty comments about any celebrity who is rumored to be gay. I know that she thinks that it is comedy, but she makes it more difficult for them.

    • Trey

I think she is closeted herself. My gay friends even say she talks about gays way to much. Every interview she does, you can count on homosexuality coming up at some point.

  • mark

The episode of Ugly Betty when Justin comes out (it’s coming within the next 5 episodes, I know it) will undoubtedly win next year. I can’t wait.

  • Bgun

A Single Man didn’t win outstanding film. Really?

    • Buffy Freak

Like the Best Comedy Series, I think the award for Best Film will be awarded at the Los Angeles ceremony. The film listed in this story was Best Film-Limited Release. A Single Man is probably up for Best Film-Wide Release.
