Following a grass-roots fan campaign — including the Facebook group “Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!’ — NBC has announced that ex-Golden Girl Betty White, 88, will host Saturday Night Live on May 8, according to USA Today. White’s episode, set to coincide with Mother’s Day weekend, will also feature a reunion of six SNL alumnae: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, and Ana Gasteyer.

Me too, but I get it: at 80+ she might be SNL’s oldest host, and it makes sense she’d want to be part of a special kind of episode where her burden is lightened just a bit. I’m very, very excited.

Never was a fan of Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph or Ana Gasteyer. If they do a Mary Catherine Gallagher sketch I will be turning it off. Worst recurring sketch ever!
looove Ana Gasteyer! She’s one of the best SNL has ever had. Maya Rudolph can be hit or miss, but she’s great when she does those class nerd skits with Rachel Dratch. But I agree with you about molly shannon–all her characters are the same!

I don’t see why people are so mad about the Palin imitations. They are funny. I am a democrat, but I can still laugh when they mock Clinton (Bill and Hillary) as well as Biden and Obama. Why can’t the other side do the same?

Yes but it does get annoying having to explain to the idiots who live on my campus that Sarah Palin never actually said, “I can see Russia from my house!” Tina Fey said it actually but everyone seems to think Sarah Palin actually said that. What she really said was that in certain parts of Alaska you can see Russia in the distance (which is true) but everyone still thinks Palin actually said it. Drives me nuts
True… but some of the dialogue was also lifted directly from her interviews with Couric, word for word. Palin brought it all on herself.
