Robert De Niro signs on to play Vince Lombardi

Robert De Niro will play legendary football coach Vince Lombardi, Variety reports. De Niro will play the title character in big-screen project Lombardi for ESPN Films, Andell Entertainment, and the NFL. Eric Roth will write the script about the life of the famed Green Bay Packers coach.

They couldn’t get Jerry Stiller to reprise his role of Vince Lombardi from when he played him in those Nike commercials? LOL
