R&B singer D’Angelo was arrested in New York on Saturday after allegedly attempting to pay for sex with an undercover police officer who was posing as a prostitute, according to the AP.
D’Angelo’s worldwide manager Lindsay Guion issued the following statement: “We know there is a lot of speculation in regard to the arrest of D’Angelo in New York City this past weekend. We would like his fans and the public at large to know that D’Angelo has pled not guilty — and is contesting the allegations made against him. Also know that, he is in good health and extremely excited about his forthcoming new album. D’Angelo would like to personally thank all of his fans for the outpouring of concern, and appreciates if all would allow the American justice system to resolve the matter before jumping to any conclusions.”
Wow, that’s kinda pathetic. Is he really not able to find anyone who wants to touch him for free? Maybe he doesn’t have the same body he had in the “Untitled” video. What happened to him anyway? He’s been MIA for a decade. He’s probably wishing he were Maxwell right about now.

Perhaps what KC & David didn’t articulate very well, is that you should reserve condemning him (eg., saying it is pathetic) until he is found guilty. Being charged does not mean he is guilty. Have you ever been accused of something that you did not do? If no, the you may not appreciate how disheartening it can be when you are. Be patient with your condemnation.

I don’t think the comment is rude. I think that when you are a celebrity, you open yourself up for public scrutiny. That comes wiht the territory. Police do undercover stings all the time with prostitution. D’Angelo being a public figure should of taken that into consideration. Having said that, it really does not affect my life at all. So it really does not matter to me. Its between him and God and (if he has one)his wife.
